SOURCE: whenever i turn on my

Generally speaking, an amp attempts to protect itself from heat, shorts, overloads and operator exuberance by refusing to turn on or stay on.

Overloads can be from excessive periods of high output or marginally low impedance loading by the speakers; and shorts would be wiring issues or a speaker blowing up.

You should be able to feel if it's hot. WHY is it overheating? Make sure it has sufficient ventilation on all sides and that vent holes are not blocked by dust balls. Ensure the fan (if equipped) is running as designed (some only operate on demand). Clean dust and debris from it.

If the amp comes back on after cooling, you're lucky. They only have so many self-protection cycles in their lives so continuously resetting or cycling their power without addressing the cause can do more harm than good.

If it protects immediately on a cool power up you should disconnect the speaker connections and try it '*****'. If it comes up then diagnose which lead(s) are shorted. If it does not come up the problem is internal and should be left to an experienced and competent hands-on tech.

SOURCE: Good day, I have got

Hello,

Usually a problem like this will indicate a bad transistor in the amplification section. I suspect that the control circuit is sensing a fluctuation in the power supply and going in to protect mode. (assuming that the protect circuit itself is working properly) If a voltage is too high the unit will go in to protect mode to prevent damage to the speakers and the rest of the unit. I would take the unit in to a local repair shop and get a estimate of repair charges. Expect a 60 to 80 dollar repair charge depending on how many parts need to be replaced and what the repair labor rate is in your area.

I hope this will help to solve the problem....

Correct the laser is not reading the disk. Cleaning won't help. Usually not worth getting repaired as a similar new unit will cost about the same!

I have a mini hifi sony mhc dx50 the 3 disc changer doesnt work it wont play any cds and says there is no cd in it when there is any ideas?

It may be a dirty laser lens, or the laser is worn enough that is can't read the discs any more. There are cleaning CDs available, but I haven't found them to work very well most of the time. The most effective way is to clean the lens with a cotton swab moistened with optical cleaning liquid. That means opening the unit to get to the lens, of course, and some Sonys are harder than others. It's not an impossible task, though.

If the player still doesn't read discs after cleaning the lens, the pickup probably is bad. There are other possible causes, but the pickup is the most common. Thanks for asking on Fixya!

i/ve found that sony has the best single trays (and freq range)..i would stay away from multi cd players and any jvc (jvc freq range is horrible)...your speakers must match these componets....(bose, yamaha or customize )
