Z710 Camera quit working

I have only used this camera about 10 times. The camera came on took a few pictures, deleted a few, then it quit working with the lens still out. When I turn it off then on, the screen lights up for about a second then goes blank.

Yes I do. I think you have a dead battery and I am trying to figure out how to recharge mine as well. The Kodak easyshare website did not say how to fix the problem and neither did their tutorial. Someone else had to explain it to me. There are ways to prevent your battery from going dead sooner than later. Read about it on the Kodac website. follow the links, etc.

The bottom battery contacts look fully up and the batteries sit up above the base until you close the lid. I only used this camera a few times and this happened. What is going on?

Posted solution does not work for me. I turned my camera on and, when attempting to use flash, the flash inidcator kept blinking. Thinking that my batteries were low, I rechaged them and inserted them into the camera. Nothing. I cleaned the contacts on the bottom of the battery compartment and pried the contacts up a tad. Still nothing. What ?

Pry the battery contacts " in bottom of camera" up GENTLY" with a small flat head screw driver. They bend easy causing this problem. The force from the battery door can cause this. Always use the "rechargeable" batteries, and make sure it is fully charged. I'll bet anything it will work then. Also. clean the contacts top and bottom with a Q-tip, using a little dab of white vinigar on one side, then dry using other side of Q-tip.Then turn on camera without memory card. Kodak cameras love to eat batteries. The older they get the worse. You might have to repeat this every week or couple of months.

I cannot take new pictures after inserting a new memory card.

HAVE YOU TRYED PUTTING THE PICTURES ON YOUR COMPUTER SO YOU DONT LOOSE THEM BUT THEN YOU'LL ABLE TO DELETE THEM OFF YOUR CAMERA ? TO RELEASE THE INTERNAL MEMORY YOU'LL HAVE TO DELETE THE PICTURES MOST CAMERAS HAVE LIMITED MEMORY AND IF USEING A SETTING LIKE HD PICTURES WILL USE UP ALOT OF THE MEMORY TRY SETTING YOUR CAMERA TO TAKE PICTURES IN A SMALLER FORMAT LIKE VGA OR A SMALLER RESOLUTION

I too had the same problem. We were told we were using the wrong bateries, so we made sure that we used the correct ones, and it happened again and now the warranty is out and I can't send it to be fixed. If anyone has any idea what the problem is, please email me at admrlkirk1@aol.com.

Thanks

Z710 wont transfer pics from camera to computer

The hinge itself shouldnt affect the usb port but if it was broken off by quite a force, then it possibly took some damage. I'd suspect you'd be able to see if it was from a close and careful visual inspection.

Connect the camera to the computer and then, and only then turn the camera's power on.
Try another USB cable yet?
Tried it on another computer yet?
Do so
