HP compaq d530s SFF pci slot1 not worknig

Hi , with the computer powered off and ac power plug removed, press down on power button to discharge any residual energy noting any mainboard mounted LED lights have stopped glowing, then try reseating the " horizontal mounting bracket" ( remove the attached expansion card device ) restart computer , then shut down again , install the expansion card device and restart - hopefully now the pci bus will connect and the card detected and reinstalled by Windows

Yes you are quite correct a 3D device/graphics/display card needs to be installed in your computer to play games well.

Start by checking what expansion slots are available on your computer mainboard. These are slots going from the front of your computer to the rear of your computer.

There are many different slot types, the most likely would be PCI-Express X16 or AGP X8 or AGP X4. If it is a white slot then it is plain PCI.

Find the model number of your mainboard, it is usually found between the slots and Google specifications to determine the best interface to use.

Then go to your favorite computer store and ask to purchase a graphics card with the interface that fits your computer's mainboard.

A) CPU = Central Processing Unit. Another term is Microprocessor, or Processor for short.
The 'Brain' of the computer.

B) Front Side Bus. Also abbreviated as FSB.
The FSB is the 'Information Highway' between the Processor, and the Northbridge chip.

C) The motherboard chipset is the Northbridge chip, and the Southbridge chip.

The Northbridge chip handles the faster capabilities of the computer.
It is named NORTHbridge, because on the orientation of the motherboard, it is to the North of the motherboard.

The Southbridge chip handles the slower capabilities of the computer.


D) The Northbridge handles the Processor, Ram Memory, and HIGH-speed graphics.
AGP and PCI Express are high speed graphic technologies.

A graphics card used in a PCI expansion slot, and Integrated Graphics are NOT high speed graphics.

A) At the top middle is the Processor socket. White in color, rectangular in shape, square hole in the middle, and socket holes on it.

To the immediate left of the Processor socket are 8 Electrolytic Capacitors in a row.
These capacitors are Radial Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors. (Used all over the motherboard)

These particular 8 are part of the motherboard voltage regulator circuit.
Specifically, voltage regulation for the Processor.

B) To the right of the Processor socket are three long Black Ram Memory slots. (Proper computer speak for Slot, is Bank. 3 Ram Memory Banks)

C) The Blue and the White connectors to the right of the Ram Memory slots are IDE connectors.
One for the Harddrive, the other one for the optical drive/s.

D) Underneath the Processor is the Northbridge chip. There is a clear fan sitting on it.

E) The large square Black chip with VIA on it, below the Ram Memory slots, and to the right of the purple PCI slots, is the Southbridge chip.

F) The 5 purple long slots are PCI expansion slots.

G) To the right of the bottom purple PCI slot is the CMOS battery.

H) Above the purple PCI slots is a brown AGP slot.

The sound on my L7VMM2 motherboard is not working.

Hi,

First of all which operating system is on the machine?

Secondly have you been into the BIOS to see if the on-board has been disabled. To get into the BIOS restart the computer and press either the Del or Esc key to access the BIOS.

Also go to device manager and see if the audio has been disabled from there.

If you have installed Windows 7 or Vista then there could be a chance that the motherboard drivers are not designed for the operating system. If that's the case then no driver will work.
You would have to manually search the internet for someone who may have found a compatible driver.

What is the advantage of PCIe expansion bus and how willl it contribute to providing a solution at the internet cafe?

A PCI expansion bus is a slot in your computer, a place where yo can plug in a electonic device. There are several different kinds of slots in most desktop or tower style computers, PCI is one of them. PCI slots will accomodate a variety of expansion devices, a modem or Network interface card for example.

How a PCI clot will interface with the rest of your question is a mystery to me. What is the problem at the internet cafe??? I would expect most folks would use a laptop computer at a internet cafe ... laptops do not have PCI slots. The Cafe may have a tower with PCI slots and they may have an issue that could be addressed by an expansion card installed using the PCI card.

If you can ask your question or present your situation, I and other volunteer workers here would be glad to have a look at it.

Monitor screen stays blank

HP desktop computer? Change the monitor cable. The cable from the monitor to the computer, may be bad.
Happens.

If this doesn't solve it then I suggest the GPU is bad. Graphics Processing Unit. If you have Integrated Graphics, (Also referred to as 'On-Board'), then I suggest buying an average, inexpensive graphics card, and installing it.
You'll have to see what expansion slot, your computer uses for graphics. It may be a PCI slot, or an AGP slot, or a PCI Express x16 slot.

Clear as mud on that last one? Let me give you some links, that might help clear up what an Expansion slot is, and the three types of expansion slots used for a graphics card.

The link above (No.5) shows a photo of an average motherboard. At the top right you will see two White slots. Those are PCI expansion slots.
Below the PCI slots is a PCI Express x16 slot. It is Black in color.

Asus A7V8X 1 gb sim

Have you tried the 1gb in the motherboard on its own but in different slots. i.e try slot 1 then slot 2 then slot 3 and see if you still get beeps.
