Question about Kenmore 659 Electric Dryer

1 Answer

Kenmore 65952 keeps going to "PF"

I have had trouble with the "PF" being displayed on the dryer and not letting the dryer start. There has been no power failure in the house when this happens. This happens sporadically. I have tried selecting custom memory start then custom memory off - a tip from the instrution book. Then, all at once I can dry clothes with no problem. In fact, I dried 6 loads this weekend without it coming on once.
Thanks in advance.

Was able to dry 2 loads 3 days ago no problem. Dried one load this morning and then the PF light is coming on again. My husband checked the power cord from the dryer and into the receptacle. It is still flashing PF whenever I try to dry a load.

    Thanks for help.

If you have a receiptical proble loose one leg or ground. This can cause this. If your plug is not in all the way that could show the same problem

We just replaced the power cord and outlet for a Kenmore Elite HE3 dryer and now it will not go on. I flipped the circuit breaker on and it said PF and now I get nothing.

PF error = Power Failure - error code indicates a power failure during the dryer's cycle. Press and HOLD start to continue the cycle, or press off/pause to clear display.

Here is a site to double check the wiring:
