Can i connect a turntable to a JVC RX-5020VBK receiver?

With a bit of effort: This receiver has a variety of auxiliary or "line" level audio inputs (CD, VCR, etc.) but none designed for a phono cartridge input. You would need an external phono preamplifier in between the turntable output and one of the JVC inputs to have sufficient audio level. (Some newer turntables come equipped with such a preamp, but most do not.) They cost from $20 to $50 from a variety of suppliers (MCM, Parts-Express, etc.)

I need to connect my Dish Network 625 DVR to a JVC RX-709VTN surround sound receiver, along with my DVD and VCR. Nobody can help me at Dish Network. Seems they aren't trained to help outside of the DVR. I...

Providing you have enough input ports on the surround run you a red and white audio RCA jack from the receiver out port for TV1 and connect to the same colored ports on the satellite in ports on the surround. If you do not have enough ports then you may have to use the in ports on the DVD etc to run the TV through to utilize the surround system. Thanks for using Fix Ya.

Setting up Unit

I called the JVC tech service rep. I went from the Cable box to the JVC unit with a Digital Optical Cable, from dvd/vcr player to jvc unit with a Composite Cable and Audio Cables. From cable box to tv with hdmi cable and from jvc unit to tv with componet cables and cable box to dvd/vcr with Audio/ Video and S-Video cables. This allows me to have the cable TV access and Surround sound in all mode. I have HD and Digital surround sound in three diiferent modes. Everything is working great.
Thanks for the opportunity for help just the same.

Sincerely, cthomas249

Also...If your BluRay player only has a optical output for audio you will need to swap the inputs on the JVC rx-5020v. Press the "settings" button repeatedly until "digital in" appears on the display. Now use the "adjust" up and down buttons until DVD is selected as option 2. It will look like something like: 1CD2DVD Note: this may bugger any other previous setup you have.
