Question about Hotpoint RGB790SEHSA Gas Kitchen Range
Our Hotpoint range (oven) sometimes does not light off. The top range works fine, but the oven sometimes does not light? When it does work it works fine. Is this an ignitor, gas valve or thermostat problem? Thanks Frank.
Usually ranges have a pilot at the bottom. Take the bottom panel off and there should be a button that says 'pilot' hold the button down for a few seconds to let the air purge out. Then while still holding the button down, light the pilot with a match or a lighter of some sort. Continue holding the button down for a few more seconds until the thermocouple has warmed up. (You'll know the thermocouple has warmed up if you can release the pilot button and the pilot stays lit)
