Wrong Cartridge The ink is filled and yet the printer flashes the orange alarm and says "wrong cartridge". I've taken all the components of the ink out and put them back in but no difference. I've also unplugged to reboot.

I have replaced our ink cartridges several times without any
trouble. I replaced the last one (yes, it is the correct
cartridge) and now I have the error WRONG CARTRIDGE. What can I
    do to fix this?

I am refilling the black ink of my canon printer using continuous ink container but the black color doesn't flow into the end of the hose and it didn't print at all, please help

  • Check the printer's power/alarm light. If it is flashing orange, count the number of flashes. Look up the flash code in your printer's user manual to diagnose the problem.
  • 2 Remove and reinstall the ink cartridges if the power/alarm light flashes 5, 7 or 15 times consecutively. This indicates that the issue is a cartridge error, an incorrectly installed cartridge, or an unrecognized cartridge. These errors can be fixed by reinstalling the ink cartridges. Make sure that you are using the correct ink cartridges for your Canon printer.

  • Turn on the printer and open the front cover. The ink cartridge holder should move to the replacement position.
  • 4 Verify that the colored ink cartridge is inserted in the slot on the right and the black ink cartridge is inserted in the slot on the left. Swap the cartridges and reinstall them in the correct slots if necessary.
  • 5 Check to see that both ink cartridges are level with one other and parallel to the top of the ink cartridge holder. If either cartridge is wedged at an angle, gently apply pressure to the cartridge until it clicks into the correct position.
  • 6 Close the front cover of your Canon printer and wait while the printer initializes the newly installed cartridges. This can take a minute or two.

    Wrong cartridge flashing alarm

Sorry about the bad advice... Wrong cartridge on a Canon means the printhead has gone out. You need to buy a new printhead, the part number is on the side of your old one. This machine doesn't care what brand of ink you use, and it says wrong cartridge just because of the translation from Japanese to english.

Orange cartridge keeps flashing after cartridge

Are you using a factory new HP ink cartridge?
If you are using a refilled or third party cartridge that may well be your problem. Most manufacturers build logic into their products to prevent the use of “Other Equipment Manufactured” cartridges as well as re-filled cartridges.
They do this to prevent problems from contaminated inks causing problems with print quality or damaging the physical printhead.
Also take a moment and make sure that all of the protective tape coverings have been removed from the cartridge.

I changed ink my printer showing wrong cartridge

Make sure you are using factory new Canon ink cartridges.

If you purchased re-filled cartridges or third party cartridges that is most likely your problem.

Wrong cartridge means your printhead is worn out, not inks, you just need a new printhead.

You have likely buggered up the chip on the cartridge during your "filling" or damaged the contacts on the carriage unit.

Do everyone a favor and go buy OEM cartridges, it will solve your problem.
