Question about Toshiba 52HM95 52" HDTV Projection Television
I have ordered a Light Engine from partstore.com
Does anyone know if the Light Engine consists of new fans, a new projector lamp as well as a new color wheel and motor?
This is the worst investment I have ever mede after replacing the bulb for every six months the color wheel goes out and its 750 to repair
basically after the initial arm and a leg the TV came back for the other ones And the customer service from Toshiba is even wors than the TV I guarantee you will end up cursing at them before you hang up in there face after the smart *** remarks If you buy this TV your as stupid as I was
Toshiba is the worst brand to buy

I also replace the lamp after about a year. A year later a fan was making noise out of the back. Took it to a "authorized" Toshiba Rip-Off repair store and they said it was the light engine. The explained that the light engine and color wheel were all the same unit and could not be replace separately. They want $775 to repair. If you look on parts store.com, the part runs for $456. I am taking out the lamp and going to try and sell it for half of what it cost. and trash the rest. I will not be held hostage and keep pouring money into a sinking ship. What a piece of ****. Toshiba claims that I should have bought the extended warranty. I told them if their product were worth ****, I wouldn't need to. Pissed off in Missouri. If you need an spare lamp, let me know.

I just had mine replaced and it's basically every moving part in the TV. That includes several fans, light engine, lens, etc all in one component. The person who replaced mine got it from a place that has a newly-engineered model that is supposed to last longer. I can tell you that my replacement is not looking as good as the original and I am currently unable to get it to start up any more. Good thing there is a 6 month warranty, but the labor is no refund.

I've had my 52 inch Toshiba HM95 for 4 years and have replaced the lamp 3 times...now looking at a fourth. Can't believe the latest lamp died on Christmas day after giving the kids a bunch of video games. I've already had the color wheel rebuilt (under warranty) which turned it into a paperweight for 3 months while it was being rebuilt, and I still get the lovely loud whine noise. Toshiba is the worst ever. Paid over 2K for this TV and I'd be thrilled to just have someone take it to the dump.
