I have an Olympus, stylus 1030 SW camera.I saved some of my pictures to "My Favorites" then deleted them off my card. I was wondering if there is a way to transfer the my pictures back on to the card.

If I have understood this correctly then you only saved shortcuts to the pictures in which case you have lost the pictures. There is a chance of recovering them with software BUT DON'T CONTINUE TO USE THE CARD, as you will lessen the chance of any recovery. Take the card out of the camera and place in card reader. Then use software from http://www.pcinspector.de/default.htm to scan the card and recover what you can.Make the save directory a folder on your hard drive and NOT the card.
(If I am incorrect and you actually copied the pictures to your computer then I apologise for alarming you. In that case if you have then it is just a matter of navigating to the directory they are saved in on the PC, copying them (right click copy) and pasting them back into the directory on the card that stores the pictures, DCIM/olympus etc-just click through the directories till you find the pix.)

I hope I have been of help but please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
I appreciate your vote if you appreciate my reply.

You should be able to select the camera as a separate drive in 'my computer' then you can drag the files from 'my favorites' to the DCIM folder on the camera to copy them back. Otherwise you can use a file recovery program like the free : http://www.piriform.com/recuva to restore the deleted files.

Olympus stylus 1030 SW purchased in 2008 won't download to my Windows 7 computer

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo management program such as Picasa:

Need to have date printed out on my photos with my olympus stylus 1030 sw camera

The date and time (and a lot more) are stored with every photo in its EXIF metadata. If you want this printed with the photo, please consult the documentation for whatever program you're using to print your photos. Depending on the program and printer, you may print the date/time on the image, in the margins, or on the back.

Pictures on Internal Memory

Select Backup from the Setup menu to copy pictures from the internal memory to a memory card. This is a copy, not a move, leaving internal memory untouched. It also does not affect any favorites.

Olympus Stylus 1030 SW display not working after being in water

I just had a similar problem. I am not sure how it was fixed, but it works again - at least for now.

I had the camera on and was taking pictures when the screen went dark. Same as you describe, it takes pictures, flash works, LED, works, everything but the display. I plugged it into my computer with the USB adapter to see if I can salvage what is on the card and the diplay lights up. Tried several variations, but when the cable is connected to the computer (didn't have to be connected to the computer) the screen worked. Unplug, no display. I spun the settings button a couple of times. I accidentally took a couple of short videos and pictures that I deleted. I unplugged the camera and powered down again (tried that before). Power up and the screen is fine.

Again I have no idea what fixed it or why the display worked with the cable plugged in. It might have been related to the videos or some setting that I had slipped into (thought the display button never worked or changed anything).

Hopefully something in there helps or someone can explain what I did.

Transfer Photos from favorites to PC?

Hi I am sorry to say sounds like you have deleted them , the menu favourites is not a separate memory it is just a prefix for the camera to find your favorite pictures .. so if you have erased them I think all you are actually seeing on the camera are the saved thumbprints to favourites with the address on them so the camera knew where they where stored .. But you have deleted them so they wont show in the cards directory as they are no longer there . To doubly check my theory please check your available memory on the card and work out how many photos it can store and what space is available .. and would there be space for your pictures on the card if they where still there for example .. card size 1ghz
each picture in Bmp format uses approx 500kb in jpeg or jif format approx 250 kb so multiply the number of photos you took by 250 or 500 depending on what format they are on the camera . take the available space stated and the maximum space available and deduct it from the greater , then tally the amount left with the amount of space needed for your photos . if it correlates then they may just be there in a hidden file if it doesen't then I am afraid you have lost them .. if it seems they are there in files on your computer activate hidden files view and you just may find them .. but I seriously doubt it .. always save pictures to Computer before deleting them from any directory on the camera as when moving them from directory on camera it sometimes only re categorizes them as the camera has limited space ..
