Pritner will not print. It is not offline, I have reinstsalled the print drives, and made sure that the port is correct USB001. Also made sure the cord works. And have restarted the computer and printer many times.
The computer cannot find the hardware. The printer copies just fine and pictures can be printed from a memory card from our camera. Is it time to get a new printer?? I hate to it prints just fine.

It's possible that the SNMP Status Enabled box is checked on the print server (Printer/Properties/Ports/Port Settings). When you disabled SNMP or changed the community name on the printer, the server was no longer getting status updates and so flagged it as offline. Make sure the community names match.
check out the port u r using to print, follow the setup instructions to select the correct printer port.... if not, go to:
- Start - Control panel - printers - right click the printer u need - properties - ports..... check if it's on LPT1 or other and the printer is USB connected - try the diferent USB001, etc to find the correct port........
If this doesn't work: check out if printer is "use printer offline" and turn it online or paused....
If all this does not fix ur problem try chanching the usb cable.....
try this go into control panel click on printers to open all available printers. make sure your printer is set to default. right cilck on your printer a menu will appear look for use printer online and click on it if its a setting this will fix it. if not uninstall and then reinstall the printer software with your antivirus disabled
Hi, Printers do that only the two reason are there, 1- wrong configurations like wrong port in the preferences. 2- if the cable is faulty...
Go to control panel -> Printers and Faxes then right click of the printer that you are using and connected, the make sure that is 'set to default' then go to preferences and then ports and make sure its in usb001 or any other assigned port that is seeing usb. Otherwise make sure you replace the cable first. Hope that helps
It would be strange for the printer to print dot between each printed character without this coming from the system.
As a check the first thing I would recomend doing would be to print a self test print on the printer, you can do this easiest by printing a menu print.
To print a menu print put the pritner OFFLINE
Press the button under MENU
Press the button under PRINT.
The printer should print out its configuration page, if this has dots between each character then this defiantly means you have printer problems.
You can try defaulting the pritner back to factory settings, this is down by holding down the four buttons (1, 2, 3 & 4) under the LCD display whilst powerind the printer on.
If the menu prints OK, then there is some sort of other strange system or communication problem.
If the pritner is connected via serial, check the serial settings on the pritner also chack the pin configuration of the connector used to print to the printer.
Try printing from another system or application to identify what might be causing the problem for example an application or driver problem, perhaps try printing from a PC directly to the pritner to check the interface on the printer is OK.
Check the emulation setting on the pritner ensure this is correct.
You may need new print heads. They are around $50. Or, you could do this: Take the print head out of the printer, and run warm water from the tap (not high pressure), over the ports for about 5 minutes. Ink will drop out of the jets. Dont touch the electrical contact end of this head. This may clean the head enough so it works again. If not you need a new print head.
From your start menu, go to printers and faxes area. When this opens do you see your printer listed? Is it greyed out at all or maybe listed as offline? How are you connected tot he computer? Network, USB, or parallel port connection? If you see your printer listed and it has no other duplicate listings, right click the printer and go to properties, then choose the Ports tab. Verify here that the port selected witha check mark corresponds with your connection method. Example: If you are connected through USB, your selected port should say USB. Sometimes DOT4 ports will work for USB connections too. If you see this option, you can select it and hit apply to try it out. Try to print a test page after each applied change. Also, make sure that print jobs haven't built up in your queue by double-clicking your printer icon. If there is a queue of failed print jobs, select them and cancel. This might take a moment to complete. If your printer icon is greyed out, right-click it and un-choose the work-offline option and try it.
