Sorry it took so long to reply to your problem. You must try to reset the Clock/Radio's microprocessor. To do this you must disconnect the Clock/Radio from the A/C power source and remove the internal battery. Let the Clock/Radio set without any power source for about 3 hours. This should completely drain all the power from the microprocessor. After this is done, reinsert the internal battery and plug the Clock/Radio into the A/C power source. The Clock/Radio's functions should return to normal. If they do not return to normal. Unplug the Clock/Radio from the A/C power source and remove the internal battery. Replace the internal Battery (CR2430). Let the Clock/Radio again drain all the power from the microprocessor. Insert the new battery and Plug the Clock/Radio into the A/C power source. The Clock/Radio's functions should return to normal. If you should still be having problem with the functions of the Clock/Radio, you will need to call Emerson Customer Support. The telephone number for Emerson Customer Support is 1-800-909-1240. Call them between the hours of 8am-4:30pm CT. Give them the make and model number of the Clock/Radio and ask them for assistance with your problem. I hope this information help you with your problem. Set time on clock radio CS238-5G

This is the way I worked it out, as soon as you've plugged in the unit, push the MEM button for a couple of seconds then push the PLAY/PAUSE button and hour will start to flash then use the arrow buttons to change hour, then push PLAY to change minutes. Once you've finished minutes push PLAY again. Not sure about setting alarms though and if you get stuck, unplug it and start again.

Radio of Durabrand Clock Radio WA-211C plays every hour on the ho

Thank you very much for your reply; I think I may have solved the problem by changing the Time settings to 24 Hour, rather than a.m. / p/m. I did this yesterday evening and the radio didn't come on every hour for a few seconds as it had been doing so I'm hoping this solves the problem, although there doesn't seem to be a logical reason why it should! I haven't yet tried setting the alarm function, so I can't be 100% certain that the problem has gone but I am hopeful.

On the basis that I had tried everything else, this seemed to be the only (last) possibility available; once again thank you very much for your reply - I don't know whether this solution is helpful to you.

Wrong time

This is a problem with either the a/c power or the Clock/Radio's internal timing crystal circuitry. The radio depends on the 60 cycle power source as the timing device. If this power is irregular or uneven in its delivery it can cause the timing circuits to lose or gain time. The Clock/Radio has a frequency tuned crystal that operates like the second hand on a clock. When the calibration for whatever reason is lost the crystal will not be able to perform the timing function correctly. The reason this does not happen in all Clock/Radios is that they usually have correction circuits. These circuits keep the crystal from drifting out of calibration during operation. Because of the low production cost of these Clock/Radios, the quality control is almost non existent. The components are variable and sometimes they do not stay within specifications. This problem is usually handled by quality control departments in the manufacturers facilities. They usually test a certain amount of the production run to make sure it meets specification. In higher priced electronics these test are on going during the production run. In lower cost electronics these tests for quality control are usually done before the production run. This is to choose the best and most reliable components for the price level of the product in production. What this means to you, is that the quality of the components and quality control of the production runs are based on cost efficiency to the manufacturer. This is the reason for these type of efficiency variables in the products. The customer support telephone number for Emerson is 1-800-898-9020 between the hours of 9am-5pm CT. Give them the make and model number of the Clock/Radio and ask them for assistance with your problem. Drop the superstitious ****. The iWake clock radio has two components in it that, when brushed together, turn it on. This is an unusual occurance, but it does happen. Here's how to fix it. You must purchase a 352 page book and prop the iWake on a 23.14 degree angle. This will cause one component slightly lean backwards, causing the components to never brush up again. Or, you could take up exorsism and cast spells on it to try and shoo the evil iSpirits away.
