Occasionally doesn't cue up

Load a cd and occasionally won't cue up. Also makes a sound like a rubber band or spring being wound. And the total time remain has switched from remain, with the single play and countiuous readouts both lit.

I have had this problem as well and found out a couple of things in the process. The offending deck sometimes just does not find the proper cue marks on the disc. I have unplugged the interconnect cable and plugged it back it, this resets the unit and this appears to work for a few times.

However, I also opened the bottom unit and cleaned the laster lenses, we are in a dusty climate and the dust builds up no mater what you do to control it.

If you choose to clean the lenses, you will notice there is a gear near the openings of the laser. Turn off your unit and rotate the gear so the laser shows in the opening. Clean the lens, I used a little Windex and a cue tip. Rotate the gear so the lens is in the position it was before you moved it for cleaning.

Occasional clanking sound under car upon turning steering wheel sharply or boinging sound like a metal spring letting go.

Sounds like the strut spring may be turning within its mounting brackets when the wheel assembly is turning. If so it will make different kinds of noise when it turns. This usually occurs when the spring has weakened or the the rubber seats are worn out.

I have a Phillips model 601/25 CD player and the CD drawer won't open - it makes a whirring noise but refuses to open.\r\n J A Adamson <jadamson35@gmail.com>

The rubber band has stretched with age. Easy fix, take cover off (several screws around the case) and band is easily accessed. Even a cheap elastic band will work as a replacement for now, it only opens the drawer mechanism, no effect on sound quality.

THE RECEIPTS ARE ONLY PRINTING HALF-WAY. IT APPEARS AS IF THE INK IS LOW. I TRIED TO CLEAN THE PRINT HEAD BUT THAT DID NOT WORK.

There is no ink in this machine. Try changing the paper. If that doesn't work, then you need to either a)replace the spring that holds the paper cover closed so that the paper is pressed tightly against the print head or b) replace the print head. You can also try using a rubber band to hold the paper cover closed more tightly. If the spring is the problem, a rubber band will do the same thing.

HI everyone, I need your help. I have change the black rubber band in the walkman but now when i play the tape it doesn't produce any sound.....On the other hand when i switch on the radio it has...

The black rubber bank is the belt that drives your motor to turn the capstan to eventtually turn the cassette. Now check if the motor is turning the capstan, the larger wheel over which you had wound up the belt. If not check if any connections have been detached when you did the belt change. Within the mechansim there is a small spring leaf switch that activates the motor and the circuits. so check this out or if you can use a multimeter to trace the voltage to the motor and circuit. If this was working prior to your work then look carefully for a careless lapse. I hope you must have wound the belt in the right direction. Helpful? Good day

How to replace the rubber gasket around door and drum

open the door around the front of the door seal you will see a lip under the lip you will see a metal band will a spring. get a screw driver and push in on the spring and pop it out. this will remove the front of the seal next is the same thing exept the band looks a little different locate the part that you can unscrew sometimes they have a socket head and sometimes it will have a phillips screw. when you are putting it back on it may be time consuming and you may start to cuss a little. you have to make sure the rubber goes on the right way so that the band seals and doesn';t fall off or you will have a leaking issue. also when taking the seal off you have to take the part that the water comes in off. just peal the rubber away from that plastic shoot. let me know if you have any more questions
