On the pin side of the plug there is a plastic cover which you lever
out, and the fuse usually comes out with it. If you don't have a test
meter to check the fuse then either Take a known working fuse from a
working appliance and put that in the plug or take the fuse from the
plug and put that in a known working appliance oplug and see if it
works. In my experience it is rarely the fuse and more likely to be a
connection in the kettle base or the thermal cutout in the kettle has
fused.
