Question about Maytag M7Y15F2A Air Conditioner

Clean unit I vacuumed the front under the filter piece, the front, do you mean to take the unit out of the outer part, I'm not sure I can do that. How and or where do you get preon? Is it really expensive, and how did it get empty? Does it leak out somehow?

Could be leak out or its probably empty and need to be fill it again... its not really expensive, and doing that you may need a experience aircon/refrigeration service tech.

Why is my ac window unit not cooling as well as it use to? .

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand your Frigidaire air conditioner, model# FAC105P1A, is not cooling as well as it used to. Please try cleaning the air filter as well as the cabinet.

Air Filter Cleaning:

The air filter should be checked at least once a month to see if cleaning is necessary. Trapped particles in the filter can build up and cause an accumulation of frost on the cooling coils.

• Push the vent handle to the Vent Closed position (where applicable).
• Open the front panel.
• Grasp the filter by the center and pull up and out.
• Wash the filter using liquid dishwashing detergent and warm water. Rinse filter thoroughly. Gently shake excess water from the filter. Be sure filter is thoroughly dry before replacing.
• Or, instead of washing you may vacuum the filter clean.

Cabinet Cleaning:

• Be sure to unplug the air conditioner to prevent shock or fire hazard. The cabinet and front may be dusted with an oil-free cloth or washed with a cloth dampened in a solution of warm water and mild liquid dishwashing detergent. Rinse thoroughly and wipe dry.
• Never use harsh cleaners, wax or polish on the cabinet front.
• Be sure to wring excess water from the cloth before wiping around the controls. Excess water in or around the controls may cause damage to the air conditioner.
• Plug in air conditioner.

I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

How to clean and service the voltas vertis platina split ac?

The filter is behind the front panel on the indoor unit. Look for a thumb or finger grip at each side of the panel and lift the bottom of the panel out and up. The filters should be seen as soon as you lift the panel. The filters will slide out. Wash them under running water by hand. Don't scrub , vacuum or brush them. They are quiet fragile and any harsh scrubbing will damage them. Cheers.

I need to clean the dust out of my fan filter.

Remove the filter and vacuum it. Be sure to turn the AC Unit OFF & Unplug it, before removing the filter. Never operate the unit without the filter installed.

Hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Need to know how to clean the front part where the filter is and is it a good idea to take the top off where the air blows out and vaccum in that? what is that exactly - looks like a roller. (someone...

Yes, it's an excellent idea to remove front of the unit and clean it. Clean the filter too, while you're at it. You can use a vacuum that has a hose and brush attachment to clean the front. If it's really diety use warm water and mild dish washing liquid to wipe the front and back of the front off. Rinse and dry thoroughly. The "roller" thing, is a squirrel cage blower. You can vacuum that, too. But, before you do anything ... Turn the unit OFF and unplug it.

To remove the front, do it the same way you do, when you take the filter out for cleaning.

Hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Unit ices up and quits cooling

There are a couple of things that contribute to the problem you're experiencing:

1. A dirty or clogged air intake filter. Turn unit OFF, remove and clean the filter. If filter is washable
be sure filter is thoroughly dry, before reinstaling it.

2. Cooling fins are dirty. Turn unit OFF, remove the outer shell of the AC unit, if necessary and
clean the fins with an old toothbrush and a vacuum cleaner.

3. Humidity level in your area is extremely high. This is Mother Nature's problem and is not readily
solvable.

4. Defrost sensor is not functioning properly. Replace sensor.

5.. Low refrigerant gas in the AC's compressor. Have compressor recharged.

Hope this helps you trouble shoot and solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks.

We have a msz-ga80va split cycle, indoor unit runs for about 5 minutes without cooling then cuts out, outside unit doesn't kick in at all

Just had the same thing happen to us with the same model (right on Xmas day).
Checked the circuit breaker is on in the fuse box. Power is on to the external unit. Filters are clean.
Internal unit activates... both indicator lights on. After 5 minutes blowing air it stops and the right indicator light goes out and the left indicator light blinks constantly.
The troubleshooting guide inside the internal unit (under the outer cover you open to clean the filters) suggests that 14 blinks is an abnormality with the external unit and refer to service manual.
Think we'll be calling a technician.

Kenmore furnace mdl BGU100168 status light indicates ignition lockout. How to correct.

Can you please verify the furnace mode, nothing comes out with the BGU100168 model #. Is it an oil or gas furnace? Was it bought at Sears?
In the mean time you can try cleaning the filter, with a piece of emery or sand paper sand clean the flame sensor (thermocouple) in front of the pilot light (if applicable). Reset the unit by disconnecting the power for 5 min. and tuning it back on.
Keep me posted!!

I have a CAPF4860C6AA air cond. I emailed your tech about a problem I have but I sent it in under the wrong model. My unit doesn't cool properly. It stopped working recently. The out side fan was working...

May I suggest? or ask, can you feel air being pulled into the front of the unit? If so, you may have a baffle or shutter misdirecting the air flow and it is not being channeled through the vent outlets into the room. The unit may need to be slipped out of the cabinet to see what is out of place and corrected. Make sure all the vents are openon the room side.. Also, the outside coils should be warm or hot, if so, the unit is working fine. Your 1 ac won't stop global warming so get the cool air into the house., teasing.:) Good luck

Window ac unit is not blowing cold air

When the unit is running, go outside and put your hand near the condenser fins, this air that comes out should be slightly warmer than the ambient temp. If it is not you will need to take the unit out of the window and out of its outer case and clean the condenser fins from the inside, this is no easy task as it is very hard to reach. You will want to get a small (toothbrushed sized) brass bristled brush with a long handle. Make sure the evaporator coil (in the front) recieves the same attention and wash the mesh filter that goes in front of the evaporator. Re- assemble and enjoy the cold air.

Try also to check if your evaporator fins is clean cause even if your air filter is clean will still present with dirty fins.
