Question about Apple iPhone Smartphone

Iphone not detected by computer

My iphone suddenly started to show this message "this acessory was not made to work with iphone". After that, it doesn`t seem to charge and is not recognized by the computer in order to sync and backup the data so I can reset it. Even though, I can still charge it on my JBL ipod speakers and it still makes calls.

Any idea on how to solve it??

thanks a lot

I am now using my moms old i phone 3g an it says disabled an none remembers the password and my i tunes says i cant restore unless i know it

plug the iphone to your computer (make sure you have itunes installed in your computer) turn the iphone off once plugged. Once its turned off, press the power button and the home button at the same time, hold it for around 10 seconds but continue holding the home button. on your computer (itunes) it should show up a message detecting the device (iphone) just press ok and it will bring you to your itunes home screen--from there CLICK "RESTORE" and that will enable your iphone again :)

How to recover text messages/SMS From iPhone 5S/5C/5/4S/4/3GS Directly

Losing messages on iPhone can be extremely anxious for those who are often using iPhone to send or receive SMS messages. For some people who accidentally deleted their important text messages, I want to introduce how to recover text messages from their iPhone directly. All iPhone model including iPhone 5S/5, iPhone 4s/4, iPhone 3GS are supported.

To recover the deleted messages from iPhone directly, we have to turn to another application for help. iOS Data Recovery for iPhone iPad iPod .

Step 1 . Connect iPhone to computer
Launch the program and connect your iPhone to computer. Then it will begin to detect your iPhone automatically. The interface for iPhone 5S/5C/5/4S and iPhone 4/3GS will be a little different:
1) For iPhone 5S/5C/5/4S, users only need to click "Start Scan" button shown in the window below to start scanning your iPhone data:

2) For iPhone 4/3GS, you need to download a plug-in by clicking the "Download" button as follows:

Step 2. Preview and recover lost messages from iPhone
After scanning, it will display all found data and files in categories as below. You can then choose the SMS messages you want to recover and then restore them to computer by clicking "Recover" button.

Yes, as you see in this tip, we can recover any deleted/lost SMS/text messages with only two steps. You can also learn more methods from this page:

When connecting via usb the iphone does not appear in windows explorer.

Here are all the possible solutions to the iphone not detecting in your computer

Fix:
Method 1: Fixing Mobile Device Driver Service
1. Open Start Menu >> Run and type services.msc and press ok [ this will open up services ]
2. Locate the service named Mobile Device Driver
3. Double click the service to open properties
4. In the "general" tab find the "startup type" drop-down arrow menu and make sure "automatic" is selected.
5. Also see the general tab to check the "service status". If it does not say "started" then click the start button to start the service and connect your phone again and click apply.
Note: If the above procedure does not helped in your case, then try restarting the service

Method 2: Solve Through Device Manager

1. Go to My Computer >> Manage and click Device Manager in the left tab.
2. Click Portable Devices >> Apple iPhone >> Uninstall
3. Unplug and plug your iPhone, now wait for windows to re recognize your iphone [ In Device Manager, you will see the new recognized Apple Iphone ]
4. Press F5 to refresh your windows explorer and your Apple iPhone will show up with a camera icon.
If for some reason none of the above methods work, but you want to copy camera taken pictures but there was no way to do it.
Follow the procedure to do the same, make sure that your iphone is connected to your computer with iphone data cable
1. Download DiskAid which is a free iPhone Explorer [ Lets you explore your iphone files and folder ]
2. Install and Run DiskAid it will automatically detect iphone and navigate to the camera photos folder on your iphone
root >> var >> mobile >> media >> DCIM >> 100APPLE or XXXAPPLE folder.
( as shown in the image below )
backupcameraimagesfromiphone_thumb.png
( click the image above to enlarge )
3. Right click any image and select Copy to PC and select a folder to copy these images, that's it . This way you can copy the images from iphone camera roll folder when you iphone does not show in my computer.

My iphone will not start despite it shows the apple logo

1. Connect your iPhone to iTunes.
2. Hold the Home button and the Power button at the same time for 10 seconds.
3. After exactly 10 seconds, release the Power button but keep holding the Home button for 10 seconds or until iTunes pops up a message saying that it has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. At this point, click OK, then click "Restore" in iTunes.
