Question about PC Desktops

1 Answer

Medion PC Hi Can you please tell me why my PC sounds like a hairdryer even when it is just standing idle? I had some problems some time ago and lost all my data. I had to re -install everything, and since then the noise has been terrible. The computer also turns itself off quite frequently. Jillie

From what I can tell is that the CPU fan is the problem. The CPU fan is probably what is whining right now, so if you want you can try and replace it. Also if it shuts down frequently, that's probably because the CPU fan isn't cooling your processor adequately, so the processor overheats, and the computer shuts itself down automatically.

I thought about it some more, it could also be a power supply problem. Have it looked at by a computer technician in your area.

When i turn on it just beeps a couple times then restarts and does this again whats causeing this

It sounds like a problem with the motherboard. If you aren't even seeing the motherboard's BIOS, then I'm almost positive it's the motherboard. There's not a ton you can do to fix a broken motherboard, so you may just want to replace it. Sorry about that.

MEDION AKOYA P 7300 D problems

hi azorin,

nice gaming PC you got yourself there.

It may sound weird but I would recommend to install Win XP Pro
instead of Vista, when you have the right to do so(Original CD!)
This might rid you of some errors and slow downs.

Concerning Vista and probale virus infection:

I dunno what you have caught, but some viruses tend to infect even the Master boot record and backcopy into clean systems, so when setting up a new system, just use clean CDs, before installing any other devices than the most necessary, do get an anti-virus (like A-squared, Avira or such) software on CD and scan without accessing the web.
Then see if you still have these problems coming.

For further assistance do not hesitate to come back to fixya.

Good luck!

Medion PC model MD 1777 wabout 4 yrs old will not start/boot up. Blue light just flickers continusly and makes a tapping sound.

Remove any disk inserted n your computer (floppy or cd) and try again.
Check the cables connection and monitor connection.
If no boot, try boot your PC using the CD restore provided with your machine
