Try installing the latest audio and LAN drivers.
You can download the audio, LAN and device drivers from the Compaq/HP WEBsupport/download page. Make sure you select your model laptop and the Windowsdrivers you require and install them. Click on this link to download thedrivers: -

Audio driver for hp pavilion ze2000

This Link
seems to provide the best thorough approach to getting those drivers installed & working.

However, someone claims, on this forum page(last post on the page) that all you need to do is use the "windows online driver search" function, and it will handle all of the messy work of locating, downloading & installing.

I hope that helps.

HP PAVILION ze2000 speakers not working

First of all, make sure that the issue is with the Speakers or with the Audio Card of the notebook.

First, download and install the Audio Drivers of the Notebook from the link below :

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp30001-30500/sp30262.exe

Please save the file in the Notebook and double click it after the download completes to install the drivers.

Restart the computer once the installation is completed.

Now, try playing any audio file using Windows Media Player.

If you are not able to get any audio from the speakers, try pluging Headphones into the Headphone Jack of the Notebook.

If you are able to listen audio from the Headphones, the issue is with the Speakers where you need to replace them.

However, if you are not able to listen audio either from the Speakers or from the Headphones we need to suspect the Sound Card.

Contact HP Chat support and find the Part Number of the Speakers if there is audio from the Headphones.
