Deleted TomTom 720 fuel station icons

I hooked up my TomTom Go 720 to my computer and an icon popped up and said you have files to copy to your computer so I downloaded them to Pisca. Then I deleted them because I didn't know what they were for - and it turns out they were all the icons for fuel stations on my tomtom. Is there a way I can download them again?

On any route summary screen, tap the software version number is shown in a box beneath the GPS satellite status icon. If you tap the box, you'll see more details of your system's configuration and the current map. You can also display this information by using the Preference 'Show version'

Try this guide it should do the trick:
http://www.tomtom.com/support/solution.php?GID=1&PID=1682&SID=0&CID=217-219&Language=1&query=gas+stations&FID=7277

If that doesn't work, just try downloading all the maps and installing them from scratch.

Your best bet is to reinstall the maps, from scratch. This will ensure that all the maps are included.

My speaker in my Tomtom Go 300 has stopped working. It must be the TT as the volume is ok on Tomtom Home on my PC. Has anybody got an idiots guide to replacing the speaker as my TT is so old it's too...

You might have muted the sound from your device. In Map view, tap anywhere on the screen. Locate the icon Change Preferences. tap that icon, then tap the right pointing arrow until you reach the sound icon. An X should be crossing it.

The icon for my samsung g3 station 1.5TB hard disk does not appear, it used to show the black square with a leaf, now it shows that default unknown windows icon...i also had trouble copying some stuff from...

I had the same problem. Searched for a G3 Station image on the web and I've created an icon (*.ico file) to replace the missing one. Unfortunately windows didn't replace the missing icon withe the one I made, but at least it changed to the defaut icon for hard drives... same the OS uses forall other drives... so I guess it's ok.
Probably the reason for the missing icon is cause we deleted or moved the native files that samsung ships with the product.
Good Luck!

No Application on my TOmtom go 720

Connect your TomTom to your PC and open the drive in "my computer". Locate the ttgo.bif. Copy and paste the ttgo.bif onto your desktop (do not skip this step in case something goes wrong) then go back to the TomTom and delete the ttgo.bif. after deleting ttgo.bif open TomTom home. It should then tell you you need a operating system. Let TomTom load the system. You may have to do this a couple of time to fet the latest operating system back onto your TomTom.

The cd that normally comes with your TomTom is to load TomTom Home onto your computer, and maybe the owners manual, both of which you can download for free from TomTom.

No Assisted Speech Recognition icons

Technically, ASR is not officially supported on the 720, so their is no guarantees. But, first make sure you have the latest application installed via HOME, 'Update my GO'.

Then, open Notepad and type the number 1 ("1"), without quotes, in the editor. Save this file as 'SUPPORT_ASR.cab' (again, without quotes). It's important that you change the extension of the file from .txt to .cab. Then copy this file into the 'ASR' folder on your TomTom device. Allow your TomTom to boot up and try it again. Also, the icons will be greyed out if you haven't selected a country/state.

Tom tom 710

I am STILL trying to download the latest Wester Europe Maps to my Go 700. But I have found this answer to your question. Any tips on how I down load the v7.20 to my TomTom? good luck.

When navigating to a location in the UK or The Netherlands you should be able to enter full digit postcodes.
If you are only able to enter 4 digits, follow the instructions below.

  1. Download the file below and save it to your computer.

    downloadbutton.gif wezipcodes715.zip (10.5 MB)

  2. Extract the contents of the downloaded file to your desktop (on PC right-click the downloaded file and select Extract to).

You will now have a folder called 'zip' on your desktop.

  3. Connect your TomTom device to your computer.

  4. If you are using a PC click Start > My Computer and double-click the icon for your TomTom device.

If you are using a Mac click the icon for your TomTom device on your desktop.

  5. Copy the complete 'zip' folder to your TomTom device.

Note: The 'zip' folder should be copied to the 'root' of your TomTom device. This means not inside one of the folders.
