When I turn on my comp. in BIOS I see a message F10 ROM SETUP IMMINENT FAILURE, AND AFTER HDD AUTOEXAMINATION RESULT IS =05. When I choose F1 (for ignoring the warning) instead F10, Windows (XP) are normaly working.

My hp Compaq nx6120 can't starts. When I turn on screen the follow messages F10=ROM Based setup i pressed F10 but I can't go into bios. please help me!!
need to change the boot seq in BIOS....
u need to press one of the foll...
DEL, F1, Esc, key etc as the case may be...immediatly after switching on the PC....
once u r in BIOS screen look for "Boot Seq" in one of the BIOS setup screens....
change the boot seq to CD ROM as 1st boot device...and HDD to 2nd boot device...
press F10 or choose BIOS "save and exit " option....
insert the XP cd...switch off and switch on...it should now boot from CD....

when u power up the computer press "del" or F2 to enter in bios then go t o boot option set first boot device as dvd drive then presss F10 then save all settings then it boot with dvd or cd
Sounds like your hard drive is about to pack up. You can disable SMART for your hard drive in your CMOS setup. which will allow you to boot up your pc. I suggest you back-up all your data as soon as possible before the hard drive fails completely.
