My computer with vista version ,it when to sleep mode( which the screen when black when leave it on for twenty minutes). Can this setting can be fix and how? Many thanks.

Click on the start orb, then click on "control panel". In control panel, double click "power options". Under "prefered plans" the "balanced" plan should be selected (doesn't matter if it isn't.) Click on "change plan settings" then set the sleep time in the drop down box. If you want to drill down a little deeper, click on "change advance power settings".

We have just bought a home that 3 of the living room/dining room fans are on 1 remote and that remote has quit. We've put in a new battery but it still doesn't work. Can they just go bad ??? Where...

Yes, they can. Another possibility, however, is the jumper settings could have been accidently changed when the battery was changed. Inside the remote is usally four little switches in a row, each can be on or off (zero or one). These need to be set to the same values as the receivers in the fans.

Hi,

You have enabled all correct changes required for keeping the USB on while your computer is in sleep mode , if it still doesn't work I would suggest you to contact the manufacturer for any changes in BIOS settings...

BIOS Disclaimer:

Modifying BIOS/ complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) settings incorrectly can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from booting properly. My Trane PTAC unit has a problem with the compressor kicking on, fan runs, clicking noise like it is trying to kick on, but takes a good 15 minutes set at a low temp. setting for it to finally engage.

Hi,
The compressor start capacitor is bad...it is not giving enough "kick" to get the motor running...
at least it is a good idea to change this first because if this does not work then the compressor needs to be changed out...

Indeed, I did the same thing.... I did find the answer in the manual!
Here's a copy of it (pg 23):

Set the command mode for the remote so it matches
the command mode for the recorder you set above.
1 Hold down ENTER
2 While holding down ENTER, enter the
command mode code number using the
number buttons.
Command Mode Code number
DVD1 number button 1
DVD2 number button 2
DVD3 number button 3
3 Hold down both the number buttons and
ENTER at the same time for more than 3
seconds.
4 Let up, press RETURN, all done!

Acer aspire 5010 bugged fan

as for aspire products, that would be part of the aspire 5000 series.
if your processor is getting that hot often its probably overheating. theres probably some dust bunnies in the fan or the fan pipes. try dusting it out and see if that solves the problems. you generally shouldnt have to alter the fan speeds at all because they are temperature controlled.
try resetting the bios to defaults if some how the fan settings were changed to funny values. it should definately be kicking in sooner than that.
