Question about ASUS P4P800-MX Motherboard

2 Answers

No Video The video output from this motherboard has had an intermittent problem, with no signal to the monitor. No it happens all the time. Is there any suggestion as to whether I could buy a PCI video card to fit in one of the expansion slots ? The motherboard has been discontinued and I'm looking for the cheapest possible solution.

I have the same problem. I've been told to get a new video card but that wont even help because when the video card shuts off....I get the blue screen of death first.

If you can find them it's a good solution to try for that board since there is no AGP slot.

You might want to upgrade the video drivers

at this link here

and see if that helps.

You could buy a cheap video card and pop it into the video bus. The bus is either AGP or PCI-e, post more info on your motherboard so we can figure out which one it is. You can get a card that would work for under 30 bucks.

Also one thing to consider is that you may have to disable your integrated graphics in the BIOS.

hope this helps

Monitor won't stay on

how is the monitor connected to the computer? what connection type is the monitor is it VGA or HDMI . What format is the computer video output is it VGA or HDMI. Also you may have two video outputs on the computer. Sometimes the motherboard vga output is disabled so that a much better video plug in card can be used which has its own video output port.

I HAVE A MSI RX480 NEO2 MOTHERBOARD IN MY COMPUTER NOT VERY OLD AND IM GETTING NO SIGNAL GHANGED GRAPICS CARD STILL NO SIGNAL

Check the monitor input, it must match the video card output Eg. VGA or DVI,
Try a different video cable.
If the video input is correct then try a different monitor to see if the monitor is faulty

Hi I recently bought a Biostar A880G+ motherboard which supports VGA, HDMI and DVI video outputs. I cannot get a second monitor to run on this board. The only output wich seems active is the VGA?

The manual says

  • NOTE: The HDMI and DVI-D ports both can provide digital video signals output function, but these two interfaces cannot work at the same time. The chipset uses the same channel to control HDMI and DVI-D, so these ports cannot transmit video signal to different display panels simultaneously.

so you should be able to use one of them as well as the VGA. Maybe you need to change something in the BIOS settings? I don't have this motherboard myself, just found the manual online at

So practically the pc starts but you don't have any image. Try using another monitor and another video card - one of them is dead.

My tower wont turn off and monitor says no input signal and keyboard doesnt work

Do you have two video outputs on your PC ie. one on the motherboard adn a separately installed card maybe? If you do you need to set the BIOS so that it uses the AGP/PCIE video card and not the 'onboard'. Try the onbopard vodeo card first to see if you get a signal there.

If you do NOT have two video outputs, and you can not see a signal then you may have a prblem wiht your monitor itself. Is this a known working monitor to start with?

Depending on how much it has broke away, you may be able to resolder it back on, or find someone who can. Other than that it will be a new board, I suspect.

It seems at least a few connections are OK, so probably worth a try, before scrapping it.

No Video Output - HP 6635 Desktop minitower - CPU Intel CELEROM 533Mhz

if you have changed the monitor and the same no signal have you noticed a beep sound? or can you see the green and red light in front of cpu? if both of this doesn't light it's power supply and if there are led lights (green&red) lighting but there is a continous beep sound the problem is the on board video card. if a sound short beep, beep the problem is your memory card.

Try either a pci or AGP card. On most boards, it will recognize the card without changing anything on the board. Does the hard drive and other components power up? Just the video not working ? If so it is probably the chip on the video, if not it could be a board failure.
