This roadmate 760 has become more of a nusiance than any help! It turns itself off even on the slightest pretext. Just move it, turn it ever so slightly and it powers off...I cant seem to figure what is wrong with it,
I'm going to guess you need a new cradle. The pin inside mine broke off in the female end of the car adapter, resulting in no power. If it's loose & periodically making contact, it would power on & off before finally going off for good. Cradles can be had on ebay for around $20.

You will need to pay Magellan for the authorization code, they are the only one that can provide you with an EU code for your Magellan 760 RoadMate. Sometimes Auto Nav 2000 Plus, Inc can also assist. They have direct connection with Magellan to assist issues with Magellan products. Good Luck
U6 is what I think it's called. those cases weren't exactly built around the insides.. (the circuit board).. there's a small IC chip on the backside of that same card with the cradle connect. . more then likely your case has shoved off a tiny little black IC chip. if you open the case and you see a little black peice.. save it. you might have to take apart your unit though. . careful when your opening it as the RF cable will be a hazard as soon as you crack the case.. so open the case just a little bit.. then find that cable I'm talking about.. and just pull it off.. then you can open it without any further restrictions.. If: this small IC chip is the problem, then you either need to solder it back on yourself.. or have someone else do it. So.. if you open the case u pand this isn't the problem let me know.. don't put the unit back together yet. and let me know.
