Tom tom rider version not

-   i had the tom tom rider when it first hit the market here in australia it cost me 1200 bucks.
i took the device back to harvey norman where i baught it 4 times in 4 months as it would not charge while riding but it would charge if i had 24volt charger.
problem being when you go camping with it on the bike get there and there is no power its then useless and may as well not even have it-   bubaganoosh
