Hello xvanpersiex, these are "Full Specifications" of your [Graghis Card].
"Check this to the 'Specs' of the "Motherboard to see if it 'Supports' the Graphic Card?"
"Try 'disconnecting, and reconnecting' the "Graphis Card"
Verify that 'all' the "Connections" are "Tightly Inserted."
*Go to the Control Panel > Device Manager > AGP Graphic Card > Verify Installed? >
Update Driver! > Restart Computer"

"If this information helped? Return and give a "Helpful Rating," please!
Thanks, paul7of9"

My pc is switched on but the monitor screen is blank. why?

Since you didnt give enough info i'll assume its a windows PC.
Did you hear the sound from the window startup? most windows PC have this sound.
If you do, check your monitor cable. Is it connected properly to motherboard / graphic card output?
If connected properly and the cable are fine then press menu > source (try all source one by one or simply auto if you are not sure which one) button on your monitor.
If you cant even see the menu on your screen after pressing it then your monitor are broken.

Black screen during startup Acer Aspire L310

Has your monitor worked for it in the past? This may be a stupid question, have you also tried to use your monitor with another computer?

It's possible your graphics controller is out, have you checked the cables insides to see if any wires are bent? Or have you tried to use another cable for the monitor to tower connection?

If you have done all of the above and the monitor works with another computer, it's possible your GPU is out :(

If your GPU is out, you can buy a new one in it's place and it will plug into a PCI slot, chances are your graphics card is integrated.

Do you get any beep codes on the computer? Another odd chance could be the computer itself is actually dead, even if a computer is dead a motherboard can still be active since electricity can still flow through it.

I hope this helps. x: I hope your problem is resolved sooner than later.

I just got a pc from a friend without HDD, i put my own HDD in but when i start up pc constantly beeps until i shut down.. so irritated.. plz help, thanks

The beep codes indicate there is a problem keeping it from starting. You code post the model, etc. of the computer, and the number of beeps, and if there are long or short beeps. Mostly these are memory and/or video. If you can, disconnect the hard drive, cd, and any extra cards (sound card, modem, network). Re-seat (remove and re-install) RAM and video card, then try it again. Re-post if you are still getting beep codes with # of beeps, etc.

I have a Dell Dimension 2350 that will display the Dell start up screen but then the the screen goes black. I have solid green power lights on the tower and monitor and the diagnostic lights are all on...

Yes, perhaps there's a problem with the graphics.

If you are using Integrated Graphics, try using a graphics card.
If you are using a graphics card, replace it with another one.

If I may;

1) GPU:
Graphics Processing Unit.

Essentially the graphics 'engine'.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GPU

If the GPU is soldered directly to the motherboard, this is Integrated Graphics.
Another name for Integrated Graphics is Onboard graphics.
On the motherBoard.

If the GPU is mounted on a removable Printed Circuit Board, (PCB), it is a graphics card.

(Also known as Video Card, Graphics Adapter Card, and Video Adapter Card)

[ Some examples of GPU's;

A) Intel:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel_GMA

B) ATI:

(AMD bought out ATI)

C) Nvidia:

Although you have not indicated hearing any BIOS Beep Codes, I would like you to humor me.

Remove all ram memory module/s, (Computer unplugged from power, Anti-Static Precautions observed), and clean the gold plated contact pins with a pencil eraser.

Remove the eraser dust with air, (Compressed air for computers, or air pressure from your mouth may be sufficient), then reinstall the ram memory module/s. ('Sticks')

After starting my PC I only hear a peep

If you are getting long and short beeps it is possible that the graphic card on your system is not proper.

Either the graphic card is gone bad or it is not seated properly

Try to open the computer tower, disconnect the Graphic card and then see if it still beeps. If it does not beep after removing the graphic card try to reinstall the card and see if it is beeping. If the computer beeps even after reseating the graphic card then you will have to replace the graphic card.

Its a GPU problem.
It can be overcome by doing reflow technique.
You need to do following.
1. Uncover ur PC casing
2. Locate the nVIDIA PCI-E Card.
3. On the card, locate the power supply pin of GPU fan.
4. Remove the pin.
5. Switch on ur PC.
6. Still u may get scrambled display/wavy screen, but wait for 5 minutes.
7. Press reset button on ur PC.
8. Ur PC might work.
9. Switch it off.
10. Connect the power supply pin back as it is.
11. Power on ur PC.
thats all.

Removal of fan power, makes the GPU to get high heat, it a reflow technique.
Remember, not to touch the GPU portion (heat sink), as it may be in higher temperature.
Try this, it works most.

HP pavilion 700 stays on black screen

It shouldn't be the issue here, as the computer is still passing the POST. It sounds like it could be a graphics card issue or a Windows issue. Try starting windows in safe mode. If this fails, try a repair install of Windows.
