I just got my IBM T40 Notebook. I created a logging password. I was told to restart the machine for changes to take effect. afterter restarting, in typing my password, I realized that keys j, k, l, m, u, i, o, and p give these #s 1,2,3,0,4,5,6, and * respectively. Now I can not log on my laptop. Please help me.

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Everytime I hit shift and then the question mark doesn't appear just hte letter e with a accnebt above it

check your regional and language settings in control panel and ensure that the language chosen on all the tabs is the same, normally, this occurs when the language selected doesn't match the keyboard installed (Systems sold in the USA have a USA keyboard, UK an UK one, etc) they keyboard layouts are different and having the wrong language or keyboard layout selected selected gets you the issue you describe.

When i am typing @ cant instead @ the letter is " please help

The keyboard is set up wrongly or the laptop isn't one set up for your country.
If you get " when typing @ try typing SHIFT and 2 for the @ symbol.
You can change keyboard settings in Control Panel.

On my Toshiba Satellite Pro M15-S405, i would push a certain letter on the keyboard and instead of typing that letter, it would make a window pop up. Is there some kind of setting that i can change to...

Your windows key (the one with the flag) appears to be blocked. Try pressing them both (or 1, if you only have 1) once, see if the keys work again. If not, try taking the keys off the keyboard (just put somthing under them and pull) and put them bac on. If that doesn't help either, you will have to have your keyboard replaced.

The@button does not work on my sons samsung netbook can you help?

Try the next letter combinations:
AltGr + 2
AltGr + Q
Or, holding Alt Key, dial 64 on your numerik keypad.
Then go to
  • Control Panel
  • Regional and language configurations
  • Go to Langauges tab
  • Click Details
  • Check for your language to be English - USA - USA
That should fix your trouble.
If you can't do, you may still use Alt+64. This is an universal code wich works on ALL computers.
