How can I get rid of the writing on the viewer of the camera when I want to take a picture?

To change what the screen shows, press cursor-up (marked DISP). Bear in mind that none of the text will actually appear on your photos; they're there on the screen simply to inform you.

Digital cameras tip : adjusting the horizon

<p>Another simple alteration that can be fabricated is to circle the photo so that the border or altar captured arise straight. This is generally added than artlessly alternating the angel 90 degrees one way or the other, from account to landscape, but instead leveling the photo so that it looks straight. Because of the angle of the photo, it may not be accessible to accomplish aggregate akin at once, so you should use the border as your ruler, or booty a ascendant article in the scene, like a being or building, and use that as a guide.

MY camera suddenly shows a histogram when I try to view the pictures. how do I get rid of it?

Try pressing up/down on the multiselector to cycle through the different views of your photos. If this doesn't do it, could you specify the model of your Nikon so we can give you more specific instructions?

Images get bright flashing border when looked at. I think it is highlighting, but I want to get rid of it.

If when you are reviewing the LCD after taking a photo and a portion of the picture is flashing black, that would be your highlight exposure warning. This can happen when the picture is overexposed, so you will need to use a faster shutter speed or a smaller aperture.

If this has no effect you might have a light leak in the body/lenses, so it will need to checked by a service technician.

Spot on my lense and it shows up on my photos.

I doubt it would be a good idea to try to get in there and get rid of the spot yourself.

If it does not affect your photos significantly then leave it be or if you feel you must, have a a professional clean it. ($$$$). Weigh the cost vs. leaving it alone.

Couldn't see them, but if they were black, or distorted, or strange colors, read on. If your pictures looked strange, it's probably due to a defective CCD imager. If so, Sony should fix this for you for free under their recall advisory, including free shipping both ways. This is regardless of your camera's warranty status.
