Question about Compaq Presario M2000 Notebook
My girlfriend was using it (Compaq M2000) yesterday when it said the battery was low and needed charging. She plugged the power supply in and nothing happened. Now it's totally dead even with the power supply plugged in. Tested the power supply at the connector that plugs in to the computer and I'm seeing 18.8 VDC so I'm thinking the power supply is ok. I suspect the problem is in the computer itself. Any suggestions? We did have a power failure a few days ago due to thunderstorms and I believe it was plugged in to the wall. Wonder if it could have gotten damaged from that.
My power plug that goes in the computer gets hot enough to melt the plastic ring on the end of the plug. so i am going to get a new power board and try that.
