Hi, my dad's work gave him a phone from AT&T, a pantech ease p 2020, and shortly after they switched to cincinnati bell. we have this really nice phone, but we cant use it it. its a shame, until i heard about unlocking. Follow these steps carefully
1) Open menu
2) Navigate to Settings (the one with gear icon)
3) Navigate to Phone (the one with phone icon, fourth one)
4) Navigate to Language (first one)
5) Navigate to Screen Text (first one)
6) Select the first option.

Did you mean the battery cover? If so put thumb on arrow and push down to bottom of phone it should slid down and open.

You need this software before you will be able to connect with your phone. (2nd) after you download this software you need to go to and open the Program Files folder on your computer. Then open the Pantech folder. Next open the Pantech PC Suite folder. Now open the P2020 folder. Finally open the USBDriver folder. This folder should contain something that looks like PTQH_V1_1_4583_1215_SETUP - Click on it and install it on your computer. This is a special driver that is required for your computer to be able to communicate with your phone. (3rd) you need to a USB data cord (this is different for a charge cord). I purchased a data/charger cord for mine. It is able to charge or transfer data/charge at the same time. It is as simple as that :C Note: After you install and run Pantech PC Suite the program will give you the option of connecting to your phone with Bluetooth. However, if you don't know it already - anytime you use Bluetooth on the Pantech Ease it will really drain you phone battery and battery life on this phone is not very good to begin with. 1. • Contact Cincinnati Bell Wireless customer service from another phone by dialing 1-888-391-3925. Ask to speak with a customer-service representative.
     
   • 2 Inform the representative you need to switch service providers and need the correct code to unlock your phone from the network. You do not need to specify a reason. Keep in mind that Cincinnati Bell does not have to release the code, but generally, if you are moving to another location not covered by Cincinnati Bell, the company will release the code.
     
   • 3 Give the representative the make and model of your phone, along with the IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) number. You can obtain your IMEI number by pressing #06#. The representative will retrieve and divulge the unlock code.
     
   • 4 Put the SIM card from your new provider into your phone and turn it on. The screen will automatically ask for the unlock code. Input the code to unlock it, and your can begin using the phone.

There can be many ways to Unlock your phone. As far as i know unlocking by codes is the simple and safe way. I will suggest the website Unlock-Zone.com which is doing good service and they were recommended highly in the cell phone forums.
I used them to unlock my cell phone. contacted them and within 30 mins i had my unlock code and my phone was unlocked.
