I have purchased a later model Sportrack trunk mount bike rack. It did not come with a manual. I am not sure how to use it

Do you have a " most " automobile?

Just Google brand/model, look for videos or even just pics that show it mounted. Rear racks are similar, not all that complex, so even a similar model instructions or video should be sufficient. Or just contact the manufacturer, found in a simple Google search for the rack: Contact Us SportRack US

It's a trunk-mount rack, should not be too hard to figure out. Try a Google search for 'Thule 515-5033' and look at the IMAGES results to see examples of it mounted on a car.

The picture in the manual for this typical rack shows it mounted on an SUV with the upper support right on the glass hatch. If you think about it, there isn't really an forward horizontal force on the loaded rack.

I contacted Bell Sports and complained about the lack of downloadable manuals. They said they are in the process of developing the website which will provide them.

It has some basic stuff about helmets and tire changing right now. Stay tuned and check it once in a while.

In the meantime, they sent me the manual for the Doubleback/Tripleback Car Rack in English since that was the one I used as an example.
