Screen won't work!!!

Hello,
My cpu is just about a year old and the screen won't turn on! I'm pretty sure that the actual cpu is fine because the lights are normal and it sounds like it's starting up fine but when i hooked it up to the tv you still couldn't see the screen! Could you please help me?

You could have a faulty video controller.
With laptops you can switch between the LCD and the external video connector, to switch between the LCD and external connector you need to press and hold down the Fn key and press one of the Function keys, (maybe F4, F6, F7 etc) to toggle between LCD and the external connector.
If you can get a video signal to the external connector, it would indicate the video card is probably OK.
then the fault could be the LCD and or the Back lighting on the LCD.

5336 as[ire when turn on screen is going to white comletely when screen movie up and down then iz working

This is actually pretty common and not really regarded as anything by the manufacture, if this ONLY happens for a brief moment during start up you're fine, typically a chip set update will solve this issue but it really isn't causing any harm so make sure you know which chip set you need. If it continues to happen for awhile even after boot up, re-seat your LCD cable (CAUTION! : making an error while doing this could cause you to break the LCD panel)

My Sony Vaio PCG-61611L won't power on, the battery is fully charged and AC adapter is working (green light goes on). Please help!

OverheatingWhen the CPU overheats then it will shut down (i.e. thermaloverload) and won't boot up again until it has cooled down. If this is theproblem is not fixed then the CPU will eventually fail.
A faulty fan causes the problem or the fan and heat sink assembly are cloggedwith dust.
Check the CPU fan to see if it spins freely, if not replace the fan.
If the fan and heat sink is clogged with dust the remove the dust and make surethe vents are clear and dust free. Use a small brush and can of compressed airto do this.

hello danilo dungo!

seems like your cpu is not getting enough ventilation. disassemble laptop and clean all parts affecting cooling, even the fan, reassemble and try again.

Heating up and not starting, where do I get to the fan assembly and can I blow the dust out?

Hello,

Turn the unit on its back, so that when it is closed the LCD backcover is facing on the table. You'll see a smaller coverer that can be removed from the actual bottom cover. Make sure you remove the battery first then all necessary screws. Lift up the cover gently, then blow out using compressed air can. Reinstall cover and tighten with screws.

Also make sure you apply new heat sink paste to the CPU. Also make sure that the CPU Heat sink fan actually turns and is not clogged up or has bearings broken.

The older laptops like this one are easier to clean than the 6952 for example.

Gateway M-6307 power dies on boot up (reaches widow screen dies)

Hi,

Make sure that it must be charged. If you are sure, there might be a problem of overheating.

If you check, there is a CPU fan. Overheating might cause thie.

Use a vacuum to cool on the fan to make it spin manually, hmmm it actually started to work after that.

If not, let me know.

Thanks for using "Fixya".

Intermittent power on and off indicates a power supply failure. Check your power supply to make sure if it is working fine.
