How to fix Samsung HL72A650C1FXZA DLP TV with no sound, no picture, bright screen with lamp light flashing?

Check the bulb ballast board. It's the board that the wires from the bulb connect to. That is most likely causing the Sounds like the main board is the culprit for most of the problem. The picture problem can be the color wheel not turning. The lenses in front of the bulb should be taken out and cleaned too.

The tv switched off and the lcd light started flashing green

ISSUES:

1. IF sound main fuse/s are good.
2. If no power or standby check main fuse, standby power supply and any signsof damage you can see---burnt parts etc.
3. almost all these sets the troubleshooting involves checking voltages on the main power board to narrow down theproblem.
4. Be safe and if you do not know what you are doing don't open the set.

Answers to issues:

1. RE:fuses---if a blown fuse is found get a good replacement(not the genericones like Radio Shack). Many fuses are special even aside from amperage--Don'tput a higher rated amperage fuse in the set for any reason.

2. RE: power supply in set: if total dead aside from main fuse the set uses astandby power supply that runs 7/24 and a main supply (some are combined andsome not.

Here aside from checking fuses you want to examine all the filter caps on thepower/standby to see if any are puffed up or buldged up in some fashion--Iattach a photo of a good one---top should be silver metal and PERFECTLY flatand have no brown material coming out on top or bottom.

What happens in the standby area is they use caps with too low a voltage rating(saves money) which causes them to fail in a year or two---the standby runs7/24 and the heat dries out the caps and they fail.

3. Trouble shooting consists of the above and then at some point you have tobuy and try a board to see if it fixes it or not.

4. Safety first--no TV set is worth getting injured or even killed over.4_12_2012_1_20_07_am.jpg
look at the power board inside the set to see if puffed up caps like these that are bad.
A model number (not indicated here) would be helpful.

Akai pt5492 shut off by itself this morning, wouldn't turn back on. This afternoon I turned tv on and the red timer light came on, no picture, no sound. Checked batteries, unplugged and plugged in a...

First is the Akai name is owned by Samsung--and here is a general answer:

Red light is shutdown or means only standby light is on.

I see so many here with no sound/nopicture issues:

Replaced color wheel and the lamp...tv still. Cycles on and off..with "lamp" green light flashing along with standby light flashing...nothing on screen and lamp not coming on? Its an hlp5063w. Please...

Since you have replaced the lamp and wheel, next would be the ballast and power supply board. These provide power to the lamp and Samsung recommends replacing both at the same time. If power supply board is bad, it can destroy the ballast so replace both. This usually takes care of the problem.

My evesham tv wont come on/ it appears to come on but few lights flash then it knocks straight back off

We had this problem, everytime we switched it off at the main plug, so when we could, we would leave it on standby. On this occasion we had to switch it off completely, but when we tried to switch it on again it wouldn't come on. So we put the t,v in another room, a much warmer room, and after leaving it for a few days hey presto it started to work again.

Tv keeps shutting off with standby and lamp light blinking. what does this mean?

Good Day sir/maam, if your TV shuts off regularly, means that the power supply section is overloading, this may be due to faulty parts inside your TV, or either the AC mains in the community is to low or to high. If you want you can temporarily use a spare Auto voltage regulator with 500 watts, use it to levelize the AC main, if symptoms still persist, you may need to call for service. hope this helps. thanks

Samsung tv wont come out of standby

Not expensive but very hard to find the exact problem.

Both are not the same problem.
Mostly, your case related IR module problem.

the other below, yours are poewr board or thermostat problem.
