Hi, look with PSU's ya don't muck around... simply replace it with a similar spec'ed one... they are all the same more or less.

The reason it won't go is that it is faulty, OR ya have a Fault on ya MotherBoard that is stopping the PSU from working... PSU's are so cheap these days replacing is much easier and less expensive than repair.

Regards Chris

Hello wazalac,

This may be the failure of the power supply itself. Did you take voltage readings of the outputs. I would venture to say that the problem is either with the switching power supply oscillator, or the high power MOSFET switch. Check for blown fuses, and if you have a ohmmeter check to see if the high power MOSFET is shorted. You will need a schematic, and a multimeter to do this.

Thank you,

This is more likely to be an issue with your power supply not being able to supply the correct voltage to a certain board all the time. Most likely bad/aging capacitors. You could probably find a new repalcement power supply board on line. Check with Shop Jimmy, they may have one fairly cheep.

Hi,
Your tvs lamp is getting over heated. There will be a fan for colling the lamp. if the fan doesn't work properly the lamp will get over heated and the will switch off itself to avoid further damages. Do one thing, Remove the fan from the tv. In the fan there will be a specification sticker. Remove the sicker. Now you can see a hole in the center. its the bearing part of the fan. put one drop of oil in it. You can use any type of lubricating oil. rotate the fan leafs with finger for some time. after that re-stick the spec sticker. insert the fan in the tv. power ON the tv and watch. If the fan is available then try to replace the same. it will not cost a lot. just watch the following video for oiling the fan. its for a PC fan same for all dc fans.
ok

Philips 60pl9200D/37. Two Red lights on power button.

If the power button is displaying the bulb fault indicator AND overheat indicator lights at the same time, it indicates a faulty cooling fan. The television is smart enough to detect when either of the two cooling fans in the chassis have failed, or aren't spinning fast enough. To prevent overheating and damage, the set will not turn on if a fan is faulty. You'll need a replacement fan.

My Philips 60 inch rear projection TV model

Mute the volume and listen at the rear of the unit. You should be able to hear a fan running since these have hot-spots that require some kind of air movment to keep them from overheating. There are protective circuits that will shut down the power supply once a critical temperature is reached.
The second possibility is the power supply itself; these sophisticated units are very energy efficient but have components in them that age and lose their function over time. The main supply should be fairly easy to spot; it will have larger components on it, some cylindrical (capacitors), others block-like.
If the fan is running and it is still shutting down, this supply may need repair or replacement. Look for a part number on the board and inquire at the manufacturer's service center about those possibilities. Have your model & serial numbers of the set available too.

Tv wont stay powered up. turns off after 15 seconds

Hi

This issue occurs due to a faulty ballast or due to overheating inside the TV. You'll need to check for swollen capacitors on the TV power supply board and also would need to check if the cooling fans are working fine.

Please tell me the model and ,make of your TV si that i can tell you where to buy the parts and also provide you details regarding the replacement.

Please revert for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

My tv keeps shutting off when I hit the power button the tv only stays powered up for about 15 seconds

HI, this may be as simple as a failed cooling fan or, the power board may be experiencing some issues with vital component breakdown as well. i recommend, if possible, to check the operational value of the cooling fans that are located inside the chassis near the power sector. test the value of the fan motor to confirm proper current flow. if no voltage is supplied, this will confirm a damaged power sector(board). if the voltage is present and the motor is not rotating, this will confirm a burned out cooling fan.

Replace the failed device.

**Most common issue here will be a weak or damaged power sector.

Samsung HL-S5679W No video No sound

Check the capacitors on the power supply first. If any have domed tops or signs of leakage, replace them. I had two go bad on mine. Call electronics parts supply stores first as these are not your average capacitors.

Audio, no vidio on RCA DLP 61

The shutdown problem might be because the unit overheats if it does not have room to breath or it might be a problem in the ballast (lamp supply)and now is showing all the way, some units use a separate ballast board and other ones have the power supply and lamp supply in one board,be carefull with these boards the voltage outof the power supply to the ballast could be measured but no the volts from the ballast to the lamp,is to high.If the LED blinks and pauses you might have a bad lamp but I dont know how many hours you have already.Be careful and stay away from the light engine and the LCD's,if you move this parts one milimeter it will give you a picture problem.Let Us know how it goes.
