How to identify a snake in georgia

When I lived in Georgia I watched my dog jump at a snake every morning for two or three days. I looked it up and "thought" it was a rat snake. But this snake was really vicious! Turns out, it was a poisonous copperhead snake! What I am saying is that snake identification charts are not that easy to read. However, I learned that snake behavior is important!
According to WikiHow: "Copperheads. These beauties have a similar body shape to cottonmouths but are much brighter, ranging from coppery brown to bright orange, silver-pink and peach.[2] The young have yellow tails as well.

Check out their head shape. Non-venomous snakes have a spoon-shaped rounded head and venomous snakes will have a more triangular head.
The fact that you describe the snake you saw as long might be a good sign as most of the poisonous snakes I saw in Georgia had fat bodies.

According to SRELherp.UGA: Brown snakes are small -- 6-13 in. (17-33 cm) -- snakes that are usually brown, but can be yellowish, reddish, or grayish-brown. They usually have two rows of dark spots, sometimes linked, along the back and a dark streak down the side of the head. The belly is light brown to white.

I have a 50 inch DLP samsung and it wont power on after making a lot of noise (I replaced the lamp) worked fine for a few days now the red light and the right side green light is blinking. any sugge

The answers above are correct. It's either the lamp or the color wheel. Testing the lamp is pretty straight forward. Use an Ohm meter to see if the it's filament has continuity. It's unlikely that a good color wheel would fail immediately after changing the lamp. Look to see if some wiring is out of place and rubbing the wheel causing the noise you described. A jammed but otherwise good color wheel would cause the TV to shut down and display an error code.

I have Samsung DLP TV 50 inch HL-P5063W

First thing to look at is the color wheel this model uses--usually it will make a high pitched fan like sound but can make a grinding sound also.

If it slows down from the 12,000 or so RPM speed it will cause color issues.

HAVE GRINDING OR HIGH PITCHED SOUND?

I have blue and red convergence problem on left side of tv picture. color distorted on left side only>

You need to take a look inside the set. As you look from back on far left board there are two metal heat sinks with fins. What you need to do is look at the one closest to the front of the set, there are a number of tiny 6.8 ohm resistors there--any that are white in the middle are gone(usually two side by side.)

This model uses two of the STK-392-120 OR -110 CHIPS. They are black, about 1.5 tall and 2.5 wide and will have the number printed on them in white.

Total cost for the chips and any bad resistors will be under 25 dollars on Ebay (I know a seller there I use).

This can be a do it yourself repair and involves only two things: getting at the chips, and replacing them.

I can step you through the best way to do this.

After you replace them you will need to use the original remote to adjust the set--easy to do.

Do you want to do it yourself or junk the set?

Average life after replaced is 5 - 8 years and this is the most common problem these sets have.

It depends on what part of one of the chips fails as to where the convergence is off.

If this told you something you did not know rate this solution as very helpful as I do this here for free.

If you are willing and able to do the fix I will assist you all the way.

Regards, SD TECH

Toshiba 65hx81 65" Rear Projection tv. black & white color/green

Yep, your problem is a relatively easy one to repair if you know how to solder. You better repair it before it blows the fuse though. There are two capacitors in the main power supply that are coming loose and need to be re soldered. There is a Toshiba service bulletin about it. They are marked C809 and C810 on the main power supply board. Good Luck

Our Color TV is now Black & White

It could be the color wheel and in fact probably is. I've seen them shatter which would explain the noise. They are glass and spinn at 9000 rpm. An involved repair though definatley a job for a pro. It could be worse, probably a few hundred will do it. Was the TV begining to be a little loud before the failure? Could be a sign, i've seen many noisy color wheels.
