Hi sallianne!

Let me help you with your concern.

STEP 1: Check if the sound card is being detected by clicking on the Start button, then select Run, and type in "devmgmt.msc".

STEP 2: Check the "Sound, Video and Game Controllers" if there are bangs on the devices or if the Sound Card is being detected.

STEP 3: We are trying to figure out if the sound card is being detected or not, because if its detected by your system and there are bangs you need to install the driver for your sound card. Or if its not detected, you might try unplugging the sound card and plugging it back to the computer but if that still doesnt work, you need to replace the sound card.

Thanks!
I know it will work. Be Positive!
Your good rating will be very much appreciated.

Good luck and thank you!

No sound in browsers since Windows xpwas reformated

Go to start, and hit Control Panel.

There should be an option that looks like "Sound Settings" or something of the sort.

In this window, verify that your default sound device is your speakers for your computer.

Won't work with new computer

I would suggest going to START>Control Panel>Sound HQ(or something similar, like Sounds and Audio Devices etc). From this point youll want to make sure, under the Sounds or Output tab, that your Boston Acoustics are selected. If theyre not listed, try to pick whatever it is your plugging into(Say a jack thats on the computer, look for something like "Internal Port" or "Dell Ports" for your computer name.) Please PM or send me an email if the problem persists

Have no sound, do I need to download something

first check if a pair of headphones works if notmake sure ur speakers have power going to them make sure speakers are plugged into the the right audio output (usually light green color in the back of ur computer) check (if ur using a PC) in control panel-sound settings, if your sound card is ENABLED. you can also go to control panel-device manager, and look for an yellow exclamation points(if you see one next to, lets say sound card, it will mean that you need to download drivers for your sound card) if ur computer is dell then go to www.dell.com and look for support option, drivers, etc. any other brand PC, just find it on google, go to manufacturer's website and follow the same format...support....drivers. hope this helps

Having speakers to work on vizo desk top . all in on desktop!

You need to remove the unknows first. Try the speakers on another device. You could try a walkman, another computer or anything with an 1/8th" Stereo jack. Prove that the speakers work or get a pair of headphones to check out your PC. If you are using the green jack on the back try the headphone jack on the front. If the front works and the back doesn't check the sound card options / set up. Some have an icon by the time in the bottom right corner others will need to be found under the sound effects manager or the sounds and audio devices icon. I suspect if you get this far something has been turned off in the software.

My speakers on my Toshiba laptop do not work, I can turn on and off the sound but nothing comes out, however I do get sound when I plug in headphones, but when I unplug them again I still do not get...

Odd that...

I'd go through the audio options and see what can be dug up - you may need to switch some things to primary sound driver. This usually fixes things.

Apart from that, if you're running a seperate sound driver, try updating it. Even if it doesn't work, it will probably look prettier.

There may be something on your laptop that's set to mute - have a look around, see if you find anything. Does it do it with all media playing programs? VLC, iTunes, Windows Media...

Trouble with rear speakers

This may be a software issue. If you only had two speakers before, the software will not use the rear speakers.
Go to Control Panel. Click on "Sound and Audio Devices". Under the Volume Tab, at the bottom, you will see a picture roughly representing the type of speakers.
Click on the Advanced button.
Click on the arrow in the pick box, and choose Surround Speakrs or the 5.1 Speakers.
Click Okay. Try the speakers again.

I can't hear voices when i play a dvd on my computer, just background sounds. i've tried many different dvd players (windows media, apple, etc) and have also checked my settings for mono or stereo speakers...

You should also check your DVD playback software and make sure that you have it set for desktop/laptop speakers and NOT for something like 5.1 or 7.1 surround etc.

HELP - we have no sound!!!

Ok i looked further into your problem. Let me try and explain something to you.

When i look up the specifications for your speakers, it says you can plug them into an ipod or or any audio device, (including your computer) , and then they will work. You cant install audio drivers for the ipod, but! they will still work with the ipod. Therefor you dont need a driver for these speakers. Now what the problem MAY BE is your sound card. I can possibly help you if you can give me some specifics as to which sound card you have and what Operating system are you using ( windows xp, windows 98, windows vista etc etc..) please let me know iw ould like to help!
