Question about LG KU990 Viewty

SanDisk 2GB micro SD memory stick isn't working in my laptop. I use a Sony Vaio with Vista, it has a digital camera memory stick slot, and pc adaptor slot for micro SDs. I slipped in my SanDisk memory stick and my pc doesn't read it at all! No icons for "Safely remove hardware," not even a load-up icon on the cursor. I bought the SanDisk after returning a PNY 2GB micro SD memory stick. It had the same adaptor, and same issue. No response whatsoever. I tried formatting them but nothing happened (with both of the different brand memory sticks). Can anyone help me?

I have same problem. My brand new Sony Vaio with Windows Vista Ultimate does not recognize the 2GB SD card, but it does recognize the 1GB one. Not sure what is the issue here. I had my IT guy to take a look at the issue and he has not been able to figure out either. Is there anyone having same problem and clue to solving the problem.

Fixed it. All I needed to do was update the software drivers on my laptop. I have a sony vaio, so I looked up the software drivers they had online and downloaded them. After I installed them it worked flawlessly.

Where can I insert my mini sandisk memorycard into my toshiba laptop? I see no slots for it.

If you have no SD slot on your laptop, you will have to buy an external USB SD reader. They typically cost $5-$10, and are readily available online (e.g. http://www.buy.com/prod/micro-sd-sdhc-card-usb-reader-for-1gb-2gb-4gb-8gb/q/sellerid/23962916/loc/101/213271933.html) or in almost any store with a good selection of electronics.

Have an HP L7680 all-in-one Just received a Panasonic Limuix camera and cannot read the SDHC memory cards in the SD slot - Printer posts an error

No, it's not possible, it'll never read SDHC in the SD slot. SD slot will only read SD, Mini SD (with adaptor) and Micro SD (with Adaptor). If there's no SDHC card slot, then it doesn't support SDHC Card. The lists of supported memory card are listed below:
CompactFlash™ Type I and II,
Secure Digital/MultiMediaCard/Secure MultiMediaCard (SD),
xD-Picture Card,
Sony Memory Stick®,
MagicGate Memory Stick,
Memory Stick Duo,
Memory Stick Pro

I hope this clears your doubt.

Note: SDHC and SD are different Memory Card types.

Good luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

How do I use the SanDisk adaptor and the SanDisk 2GB microSD

Hello,

The micro card (the smaller one) can be used alone in a port that accepts (microSD ports)such as those on a Sansa c240, c250, e250 etc.
If you have a regular SD slot (larger than microSD) then you plug the micro card in the adapter and plug the whole into a regular SD slot.

Plug the card in your computer and copy paste the files. Or plug the micro card in an MP3 player that accepts it and use you music transfert software.

You only have one card (the micro SD one), which you can use in two possible slots.

Hope it helps.

Location of SD port for SanDisk

the hp laptops have a lil small slot on the left side under where the uilt in control goes if yours came with one

its a small thin line

just take your memory card probably sd and yeah its gonna b a lil bigger than the line thats ok its design for several different memory card types

just stick it on the side towards the monitor if it works a lil light should come on

if its a sony memory card u might need a small adaptor that are like a dollar

or if its a sd micro or min u need to get the daptor to turn it into a regular size sd card must memories card will come with those adapters when you buy them

hope this helps

Vaio and micro sd

Hi,

Appreciate the direct "Ask Me".

Since you have verified that the card works (in your phone) and that the adapter works (in another computer), then the issue could very well be with the Sony VAIO VGN-C140G/B. More specifically, the USB ports/drivers. Presumably that the Sandisk 2Gb Micro SD & the adapter were working before and that you are using Windows Vista, pls check your updates that has anything to do with USB. Alternately, you may want to rollback/downgrade the USB drivers and/or seek USB driver update from the Sony site rather from Microsoft.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for your continued patronage of FixYa.

Micro SD 2 GB just stopped working

The PIC or EEPROM inside these cards may not be working. I guess you best bet is to buy a new one try Kingston brand or go with another Sandisk.
