Generic problem for all Car CD Changers

My CD Changer in my 1998 Mercury Sable has a troubleshoot code...CDE1, what does that mean? It changes cd's but says its bad. Need help to solve this problem.

I also have this problem. Power is going to changer. I can change cd's but I intermittently get bad cd or no cd on the display. I unplug the changer and plug it back in and sometimes that helps. The problem got worse when the weather got cold this winter.

ApprenticeHow does one hook up the cd UNIT that you bought ? I have the instructions BUT they do not work for trunk mounting where the contol box is located,. pleaes help
