Television picture issues... (by 2 users)

Hi, I purchased my Astar 32" LCD tv about a year and a half ago. Everything was working fine up until about 2 weeks ago. Out of the blue the tv's picture distorted and became very choppy and out of color. I hit the tv on the side when this first happened and it fixed the problem for about 2 minutes at a time..but as these two weeks have passed, even hitting the tv will not get it back to the right picture quality. I have checked to see that all the cables are plugged in correctly as well..and that is not the issue. Please help!
