Question about Insignia LCDTV26 26 in. Television
My Insignia TV, which was provided by the furnished apartment I live in, has an universal remote with no user's manual available. I have a Philips DVD player that I would love to be able to control through this remote. Can anyone help me with figuring out how to set the codes on the remote (i.e. which buttons to push, hold, what LED lights to look for, etc.), and which codes to try for my DVD player? Thanks!
I wasn't sure of the exact model so get that and check http://www.insignia-products.com/t-user_manuals.aspx, click on "Television" in the middle and select your model.
Please repost if this helps,

So, For anybody who doesn't know yet, you do not need the factory remote to restore button functions to your Insignia IS-LCDTV26. All you need to do is program a universal remote that can power on and off the TV, then
"**press the "MUTE" Button 10 times successively**"
and Voila! Unlocked, you should see the status appear in the corner of the TV if everything worked, if not try another tv code or try the manual search function on the remote to find another compatible code set.
