Question about Sony Grand WEGA KDF-42WE655 42" Rear Projection HDTV
My Dad has a 42" Wega he is getting rid of, Sony basically did not want to fix it so they replaced it and told him to do whatever with the old one. I do not know the exact model number, the first problem was a blue hue across the bottom of the screen, Sony fixed this and now the TV takes anywhere from 5 - 20 minutes to turn on, works fine when it gets up and running just very slow getting there. So I am considering tinkering with it, A) its free and B) if I break it, it was free :)
So a couple of questions:
What is the possible probelm?
Is this a quick fix and any idea of an estimate for parts?
My concern is that since Sony replaced the TV instead of fixing it that this may be a lost cause.
Thanks for the input
