Question about Whirlpool Ultimate Care II LSQ9564J Top Load Washer

Is it dead?

My whirlpool Ultimate Care II top loading washer fills with water and then nothing. Currently it is full of water. I applied pressure to the lid in case it was not recognizing it was closed but no luck. It doesn't make any sound or perform any functions except filling with water. It is plugged in and the GFC has not tripped, I checked. Please tell me I can fix it.

I have the same issue. I used a hose to drain the water out so it doesn't start to smell.

Get a pencil and hold in the button on the door. If that makes the washer start then you need to put a new switch on the door latch.

I have the same problem. Filled with water and now will do nothing. I tried the pencil thing, did not help. Before it died, I did smell a burning smell. When I turn it on, the lights in the room dim a little, but machine does nothing. Could this be caused by running a medium load on a small load cycle, although 2 loads were done after that?

My Whirlpool Ultimate Care II Washer doesn't stop filling with water

If this only happens when the machine is turned on,the tube from the tub to the water level switch is pinched or broken. If the clear plastic tube is not pinched or broken, the water level switch in the control console is bad. If the machine lets water through when it is in the OFF position, the water valve where the hoses connect are bad.

I have a whirlpool ultimate care II that won't fill with water it just starts agitating. Sometimes if you hold the load size switch in between load sizes it will start filling but you have to hold the...

The problem is quiet obvious and it is the water level pressure switch behind and connected to the load size switch knob. The pressure switch is stuck in the full position that's why the machine doesn't fill and it goes directly to agitate. Holding the load size switch in between load sizes releases the contacts from full position and allow the machine to fill as long as the switch is held on.

Disconnect power then release the console from the top of the cabinet depending on the model of your machine then pull forward and up on the console and lay it back on the hinges.

Behind and connected to the load size switch under the console is the water level pressure switch with a clear hose attached to it.

Remove the pressure hose from the pressure switch then reinstall the console and reconnect power. Start The pressBlow air forcefully into the pressure swic

The ticking sound is coming from the drive motor.
Removing the back and peering into the guts will tell you if there is a shredded belt causing the problem.
If the transmission has failed, the last one I bought years ago cost ~$130 wholesale.
