For most routers, there is a reset button you can press (usually with a pin or paper clip) on the back of the router. The only downside is that you'll have to redo all of your settings.

1- Beat yourself for creating an issue in PC Desktops when it should be under the category for Routers.
2- Reset the router so it comes up with the default password, according to the instructions in the manual, which you get to read.
3- Reconfigure the router and store the password and configuration someplace you can remember.
4- Make her open the box.

Forgotten password for wifi network

Which operating system ??
Your wireless Internet password is the encrypted security pass phrase that was set up when you installed your wireless router.

Your router allows you to access the Internet.
If you have access to more than one wireless network, you may need to remember multiple passwords.

If you happen to forget one password, you have two options: reset your password or locate the current password.

Windows 7 allows you to view the security characters of all your wireless network passwords.
Click the "Wi-Fi" network icon located on the Window's taskbar.

Right-click the name of your network's "SSID" name and select "Properties" from the drop-down menu.

Click the "Security Tab." The network security key is now visible but unreadable.

Click the "Show Characters" check box and this will reveal your wireless password.

Reset My WiFi Password

Wireless networking is a common feature in homes and offices.
Wireless routers provide access to a single Internet source, and wireless passwords ensure that only select users can access the network.

If a password is forgotten or lost, the password can be recovered or reset by accessing the router's Web-based settings menu.

Most wireless routers also have a reset button, which is capable of returning the router to its default settings which includes resetting the password.

Connect to your Wi-Fi or attach your computer directly to the router with an Ethernet cable.
Open your Web browser.

Enter the default address of your router.
The default address is listed in your user manual or on the product website.

Linksys and 3Com routers typically use "192.168.1.1" while Netgear routers use "192.168.0.1."
Enter your username and password.

Many routers use "admin" for the username and password by default.
Locate the wireless security settings. Disable the wireless security.

Reset to Factory Defaults

Locate the reset button on your router.
Typically the reset button is a small indented hole on the back of the device.

Insert a long thin object such as a paperclip and hold down the reset button for 30 seconds to revert the router to its factory default settings.

Open your Web browser.
Enter the default address of your router.

The default address is listed in your user manual or on the product website.
Linksys and 3Com routers typically use "192.168.1.1" while Netgear routers use "192.168.0.1."

Locate the wireless security settings and add security as necessary.

How do i change my router password

Please just follow the steps to change your router's password.

1. Open your Internet browser, type the address of the router into the URL address bar, and open it. The address is typically in the form of 192.168.X.X. This is the local network address.

2. Enter the account name and password to open the router setup utility.

3. Navigate through the setup utility until you find the screen that will let you change the password. You will need to enter the old password to change it.

4. Decide on a new password that has good security to a hacker. The best password is more than 8 characters and uses both lower case and upper case letters and numbers. Some will allow you to use special characters also. Do not make the password anything that can be found in a dictionary or any date of significance.

5. Enter the old password in the change password page of the router. When prompted then enter the new password. You will be asked to enter it twice to confirm that the correct password is entered.

6. Immediately, record the new password in some secure location that you can find if you forget it.

7. Confirm the password change on the router page and log off the router. To check the information and that the router has been setup correctly with the new password, open the router address in the browser again and log in with the new information. If you are able to log in, you have successfully changed the password.

Thanks.
Have a great day.

I have installed my belkin router but i forgot to type in a password is this necessary,if so how do i do that

Yes, your router should be password protected.

Belkin routers ship without a password, so after entering http://192.168.2.1 into your browser, click "login" in the upper right-hand corner, then just click on "submit" (leave the password box blank).

Once in the router, click on "system settings" in the left-hand margin, under "administrative password" leave the box next to "type in current password" _blank_. Then enter your new password in the next box and repeat it in the next box to confirm. Don't forget to click on "apply changes" then log out.

How do i get password for belkin router

Launch your web browser on the computer.
In the address bar, type http://192.168.2.1
Click login in the upper right-hand corner of the page. The router does not ship with a password, so just click Submit and you will be
able to login to the router.
In case you had set up an admin password and have forgotten the same, you will need to reset the router (By pressing the reset
hole with a paperclip for 10 seconds) and then login as stated above.

This will resolve the issue you are facing.

I will look forward to your feedback and positive rating.

I am trying to set up my wireless router to my three computers but the user name and password are not working that the guy gave me i am just tryin to get hte manual to help me

Hello there
all you have to do is reset the router, you will find a small button or hole underneath or at the back of the unit, hold it in for 30 seconds and the username and password are cleared.
I do suggest however that you get the routers software disk and set your own password as your network will be unsecured and you will have set up a wifi hot spot

kind regards and please don't forget to rate us
