Question about XM Radio (XMP6000)

1 Answer

"Antenna" prompt Just got my second xm Express radio with Sure connect antenna. On the first one as well as this one the sure connect is not working. If I plug in the regular XM antenna, it's fine. I have to believe somethings not right with the connection. It does not come with any install instructions, but it looks like a no brainer. I have called tech support and they are no help at all. Can my regular radio work properly if my antenna is bad? And how does an antenna go bad in the first place? Thanks in advance. Steve

Your sure connect antenna is bad that is why you get this message or you have something hooked up wrong check the power and ground on the unit if it has one .... some have it, some dont but most of the time its just a bad wire

Xm check atenna connection

If you are getting the same "check antenna" message with two different antennas, it is likely that the tuner itself is the problem. You can get just the mini tuner here:

As far as the two plug connection, there are adapters available. Its likely a dual fakra connection, though I don't know for sure. At any rate, this is one adapter available. (I would call to confirm)

My xm receiver says no signal - everything is connected properly - acct is up to date

With a Satellite Radio receivers you need to make sure the Antanna is on the top of the car. with nothing obstructing it. As it pulls the info from a Satellite. Now some bigger cities have terrestrial Antenna. But check the line for the Antenna make sure there is not bare wires showing and make sure that it is not damaged in any way.

My car doesn't have a cassette player, an audio jack, or an exterior antenna for xm sure connect, is there anything else i can get for it to play?

You need a FM direct adapter its plugs in behind the radio in your antenna. the part number is FMDA25its says Siruis but it works for XM.

Could my Terk XM antenna be bad right out of the blister pack?

Yes, it is possible, but go outside and face the SW and try it that way to make sure. If you have an unplugged or bad antenna, if will usually say "CHECK ANTENNA". Make sure you don't have a chunk of metal, or even your hand over the top of the mini antenna, or you WILL block the signal. Let me know how it works for you. good luck!

XM radio portion just quick working..display on DEH-P6500 reads "antenna"..any things we can try out?

No experience with this issue, but in your shoes I would check the satellite antenna connection into the back of the unit. From there, I would chase the wire and make sure it is not frayed. If that does not resolve or lead to a resolution of the issue, borrow an XM antenna and see if it will work then. If not, then something has happened internally with the head unit, most likely at the antenna connection jack.

XM radio is not working. Tries to 'Load' but then says 'no signal'. XM says that I am receiving the signal but Honda says there is no problem. They want to try to replace the antenna for $500 but are...

You best bet - if you can get to the rear of the XM tuner unit, is to temporarily connect a magnetic-mount XM antenna and see if it works. A bad antenna usually says "check antenna" - not loading could be a good antenna with a bad location. I would try the little XM antenna by itself, then go from there. $20 is a lot cheaper than $500. Let me know how it works out.

Delphi SKYFi3 XM Radio Repeater

You begin by setting up your existing (((XM))) antenna the one that came in your home kit (not included in repeater package) in a location that gets good reception of the (((XM))) signal. This may be outside, or on a south facing window sill. This antenna gets plugged into the rear of the Delphi (((XM))) Radio Signal Repeater Transmitter. A power jack is right next to the antenna connection, and should be plugged in and to the wall with the included power supply. There is also a "PWR OUT" selector switch on the rear of the unit which allows you to control the strength of the signal transmitted from the unit.

Once the power and antenna are attached, both blue indicator lights will light up on the face of the unit. The blue antenna indicator will light up only to signify that the antenna is attached correctly. It does not let you know whether your antenna is in a location receiving a good (((XM))) signal or not. You will have to look at the signal strength indicator on your (((XM))) radio receiver do determine best location for the (((XM))) antenna.

Once you have this setup, place the Repeater Antenna close to your existing (((XM))) Radio and plug it into your antenna jack on the (((XM))) radio cradle. This connector is identical to your (((XM))) Home Antenna provided with all Boom boxes and (((XM))) home receivers and kits so compatibility is guaranteed. The Repeater Receiver Antenna does not require any separate power connections. Hope this helps!

Xm radio

Try with a different XM Antenna from a friend or shop if possible to verify whether it's the antenna or the unit itself.
Visually inspect antenna cable and connection at the antenna and the unit and make sure the antenna cable hasn't been damaged.
I would do this before considering other options
Good Luck!

While in the truck, make sure the antenna is on the outside of the truck. It has magnet so it is easy to stick to the roof. Do not know what to say about the home antenna, mine is not working right now.
