  • To check if your garmin is registered properly go to www.garmin.com
  • Click on the myGarmin tab at the top of the screen
  • Enter your username and password and click SIGN IN
  • Click on the myProducts tab at the top of the screen. If your garmin is registered properly it will be displayed there. If it's name does not appear there then it's not registered.

How do I regester my new gps?
  • Connect your satnav to your computer with the mini USB lead
  • Go to www.garmin.com and select your country from the drop-down list
  • Click on the "myGarmin" tab at the top of the screen
  • Click on "Register your garmin product" and then on "Automotive"
  • Follow the prompts
You'll be asked to create a username and password. Keep them safe as you'll need them if you want to update your maps later.

You'll have to go to:
https://my.garmin.com/mygarmin/registrationGettingStarted.htm to register.
If you haven't an account with them already, no problem. You can set up an account from that page as well. Once you've set up your account with usermame and password, you'll be good to go!

You'll find the serial number on the bottom of the unit, inside an outlined box (remove mounting bracket to view). Register your nuvi 3790 by going to Garmin's Registration page, here. Follow the prompts on the screen.

No serial number on my Garmin 255 Nuvi, can't regester
The serial number should be on the bottom of the unit on the decal. If your decal is missing, the unit is not new and has been tampered with.

there should be only one place you can register your garmin and thats right HERE

you will need the serial Number off the gps, but you should not have to connect it to the computer.
