Difficulty with logon and resetting passowrd after pressing F9 in bootup?

Nah F9. According to the ASUS web site, it states to reset to factory resettings (kids have activated a password and i have no idea what this is) i push sharp object into reset button at the back and as it reboots press F9. this gives me the option to reset to manufacturers settings. I do this but on rebooting it asks me for the password again?

Oh sorry, what computer/operating system are you using. Is the password when you boot the computer, or in the operating system?

I had lost my Dell Latitude D600 Bios passowrd. So I removed the comos battery (behind main battery) and reinstalled it. But now my laptop is giving this message on bootup "invalid system...

  1. Set the BIOS to defaults:

  2. Restart your Dell laptop. Click on "Start," "Turn off Computer" and "Restart."

  3. Press "F2" during the boot process to enter the BIOS. Press "F2" before the Windows loading screen. Certain models may use a different key. The key will be displayed during the boot process. For most Dell models, the key is "F2."
  4. Use the "Alt" + "F" key combination to load defaults.
  5. Press "Esc" on your Dell laptop keyboard to save and exit.
  6. Choose the "Enter" key to save all changes and exit the BIOS screen. Allow your laptop to restart for BIOS settings to reset.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonial for my response

Thanks, Joe

Toshiba Portege 2000 PC Notebook asking password when power on how to solve

After you logon, you can remove the account password in Control Panel.
If you forgot Windows logon passowrd, you can create a Windows password reset disk to reset your lost or forgotten Windows password, i have created one with the tool Windows Password Breaker and reset my administrator password successfully.

Forgot my bootup logon password

The only way to reset your boot logon password is to take out the battery for about 5 minutes and that will clear the password in CMOS. The battery is located on your motherboard. I know it is tough cause its a laptop but just go slow and remember to put the battery back in the same way you took it out, it is easy to put in back in reversed.

Pressing F8 Key during bootup, a black screen appears, listing some of the option with Load to Factory Setting/ Reset to Default.

Select that option and reboot.

Let me know if you face any difficulty, I will assist you further.

Best of Luck & Regards

Vista logon problem

ok i know a way with windows xp , it may work with vista , just after you turn the computer on press F8 it should come up with the option to start in safe mode , start the computer in safe mode , then if u get into vista , go to user accounts in control panel , and remove the passowrd or the user , at the start u press F8 before the logo screen starts , good luck, if that dosent work you will need to reinstal a operating system , if the laptop came with a restore disk use that , it will reinstall vista , and you can start fresh , just put ur system restore cd in , start laptop, boot from cd , and away u go ,
