Problem for Toshiba DP5570 Laser Printer
Printer Properties crashes explorer

I just purchased a new computer (Dell) with W2K installed. I added a Toshiba
DP5570 printer and when I try to access the Properties page the screen goes
blank except for the blue background (not the BSOD blue) and the taskbar and
desktop icons reappear. All explorer windows are closed but other apps are
not. I can access "Printing properties..." but not the "Properties..." page.
I subsequently installed an HP4Si and Adobe Acrobat and I can not get to
thos properties pages either. Also, uninstalling the Toshiba does not help.
The really wierd thing is that I get no error message what so ever.
I can easily start from scratch but any ideas about resolving this problem
are appreciated.

First, you need to answer a of question.
Do you have Novel Client 4.7x installed? If you do, try removing the NPDS
service. You should see it under the Local Area Connection Properties. If this
solves your problem, then install a newer version of Novel. The version you
were using had a bug in it.
