Samsung ht-tx72 Issue

I am having some issues when watching a DVD and not sure if it is my Samsung ht-tx72 or my TV Panasonic 42px6u. When I watch a DVD roughly every few minutes the screen flashes black and it displays the TV/Video setting (HDMI 1) I have it set on and the movie resumes. This is happening with all kinds of DVD’s.

GEnerally speaking that behavior suggests that the video signal is being lost for a second and returns. The easiest thing to try is to replace the connection cable (video). A bad connection there could cause this although moving the cable should make this happen at will. Check the DVd player on another TV if possible. If hte player is the cause, the "new" TV should show the same symptoms.

The only other possibility is that the DVD player is having a problem generating the video signal. This could be because the disc is not being read correctly (I would expect the sound to be effected as well) or the video processing section of hte DVD player is defective. This wil be a bit more difficult to find.

Can you try the cable and other TV and update this?

Thanks,
Dan

My Samsung HT-TX72 doesn't read the DVD's

Sounds like to optical pickup (laser) has gone bad. Unfortunately on this model Samsung never made just the pickup available for replacement, they always made you replace the entire changer. The last few times I've tried to find this part for replacement I haven't been able to locate one.

Cant get sound through speakers when watchin tv. only sound when watching a dvd

You need to cable from your TV audio out to aux in on the HT-TX72. here's a link to the manual.
You'll find what you need on pgs 23- 24. good luck.

Need help setting up samsung Ht-tx 72 dvd home theater system jus to get sound to come from tv thru the surround sound speakers

Look in the manual...

http://www.retrevo.com/support/Samsung-HT-TX72-Home-Theater-Systems-manual/id/2771dj593/t/2/

The TV >>receives<< Video and Audio from the Samsung. Page 19.

The unidentified TV with its unknown audio capabilites has a manual somewhere, too.

How many TV's are actual audio sources?

If the TV is actually a root source of programming (say, through its own antenna) you can run cables from it to the Samsung as you would any other audio source. If the audio really comes fro ma Cable Box THAT is where the best TV-related audio will come from.

Regarding HT-TX75 Whenever a DVD is played I have to go in menu I.e. Sound and turn hdmi "on". But this does not "stick". Have to do again when new DVD Thanks

HDMI audio is going where in your scenario? By default, the audio is assumed to be handled by the HT, not some external device. Does your TV have better speakers?

System turns off while watching TV. It was every 6 minutes or so then it stayed on for 20 minutes then 30

Make sure that the speaker wires are plugged in the right way and that none of them are crossed :) hope this helps :)

How do I hook up a ps2 so it will play in the surround sound for a samsung ht tx72

Your HT is only capable of inputting an external audio signal, either via analog RCA (red/white) or via an digital optical cable. The video of your PS2 will then be connected directly to the TV.
