My peavy vk 2x12 have a dirty distortioned sound in the clean chanel, i'd took a look at the back side and i saw the problem could be the 12ax7, one looks ok, one is dead, have no light while is turn on, and the third is almost dead, the four 6L6 looks ok. may I replace booth sets or only the 12ax7? I'll apreciate your help, God bless you guys.

* ALWAYS UNPLUG YOUR AMPLIFIER BEFORE REMOVING TUBES *

If you can see that a tube is definitely not lighting up then it may be blown. If this amp has seen regular use then it may be time for a new set of tubes. Try replacing the 12AX7s first before committing to a new set of 6L6s. Though, if you have the cash available, a new set of power tubes isn't a bad idea either. I would advise you to do the preamp tubes first and play through the amp for a few days first before changing the power tubes.

Keep in mind... if a tube (or tubes) has blown, there could be another issue in the circuit. Swapping in a new tubes is a quick way to determine that. Then it would be time to take it to your local repair shop.

Good luck and keep rockin'!

My Peavy XR800F just had all its pots replaced and now iam getting very low output.. any ideas please ?

Output transistors or the preceding driver stages may be failing. Check for electrolytic capacitors for bulging tops, they will have to be replaced.

I need some help diagnosing/repairing the power amp side of my solid state combo guitar amp.

It does indeed sound like the power amp section. Contact the manufacturers customer service department for the schematic. Then trace it back to the problem. If you do not know how to do this, you're best taking it to a repair shop. If you poke around inside with out knowing what you're doing you can fry something or get a nasty shock.

Peavy bandit guitar amplifer produce sound only if line in and line out are patched

You most likely have a couple of dirty jacks on either line in or line out which is defeating the normalizing function. If you open it up and clean them(get some contact cleaner spray) you should be back to normal.

I have a peavy classic 100 2x12 1975 has a high pitch squeal coming out of amp when powered on

If this happens only when the guitar is plugged in, most likely there are two possibilities. The first, you have some issues with the electronics in the guitar OR are using an acoustic guitar witch has an extremely sensitive pickup that provides nothing but feedback. If this is happening with the guitar unplugged, there is a mountain of possibilities.

You need to take it to a local repairer who specialises in valve amps. I has to be looked at or you will just keep destroying tubes

Looking at the schematics my 1st guess would be a defective capacitor C114 20uf 50volts. If you are not an experienced electronic tech I would not recommend you work on this yourself. This amp operates with dangerously high voltages that remain even when unit is unplugged. If you touch the wrong thing it CAN kill you. You can probably have this repaired at professionally shop for around a $100.
Below is a link to download the schematics. Take them with you to the repair shop:

Fender hot rod deville 212 111. On the 2nd and 3rd distortion chanels the noise coming out of the speaker is very loud. Is this normal? Hard to play through the noise.

Hi. If the volume and drive levels are considerably low but you still hear a noise, you may want to consider trying a different guitar cable. The noise may be coming from a ground loop which is being amplified and overdriven by the amp itseld. I hope this helps. :-)
