I'm trying to set up NPDS printing with a Toshiba 2570 copier/printer. I have only 1 NDPS Manager and 1 Broker set up. This is on a Netware 6 server. I've tried various printer names with no success. Using the name "PORT1", I can usually set up the printer information without error. (I've tried multiple times. On some occasions it accepts "PORT1" on others it immediately errors out - "LPR Communication Failed". No other printer name I've tried works at all. If it accepts PORT1 in the setup, I can then install the printer on my PC running Windows XP. I can successfully print the test page from the printer setup. However the next attempt at printing gives the "LPR Communication Failed" error. I have also set up a Lexmark 1650 Optra S printer using the same NDPS manager and have it operating with no problems.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Toshiba 2570 is now working.
Printer names are not something you just guess or try random values. All
printer manufacturers have their specific names you should use. Some
printers are more friendly in that they accept wrong names, but still you
might get unexpected results.
Novell has compiled a list with the printer names for most printer
manufacturers. It can be found here:
http://support.novell.com/cgi- bin/search/searchtid.cgi?/1008 0373.htm
According to this document, the name to use is "raw"
If you don't find the correct name, you should check the documentation
that comes with the printer's network interface, and more specifically you
should look at thier configuration examples for Unix printing.
