Generic problem for all Laptop Accessories
Dell vostro dvd+-rw does not play dvds
I recently bought a dell machine vostro 1500. Since i bough i could never play dvd or any video at all. Please help to solve this problem

- It is not play any type of dvds except for audio(mp3) and audio in dvds. I have ruled out hardware problem , because i had DELL to replace the dvd burner. And there is no driver problem either , because i updated firmware from DELL website and driver is fine. whatelse should i do please helpthanks

download (VLC media player) this program plays all sorts of video types
What sort of DVD are you trying to play as some are only meant for TV type playing
2) Does it play other type of CD DVD Like games and driver disks etc
If Not
3) You may have to go "Device Drivers " and see if any have a yellow mark on them if they do Right click on it and scroll down to upgrade driver left click to upgrade It should go on web to find and install them
Sorry if this seems the long way round but long distance analyzing is hard
Try this site it lists problems with the DVD player and how to stop them
