This is generally a driver issue. Check the drivers for the video and ports used to hook to the tv. It may be that you need a driver or a updated driver. Could also be that the tv needs a driver for compatibility. If all the drivers are there and updated, then it could be a driver glitch, uninstall the drivers for the video and ports, then reboot. the machine will find them and reinstall the drivers automatically. This process will rule out a software issue, which leave the question of being hardware. Check the cable and ports on both the computer and tv. I really don't think you'll get this far, I think you're going to find that's it's a driver issue. If you do narrow it down to hardware then let me know and I'll instruct you on testing the ports.

call up dell service and if the laptop has no warranty then you can also visit the nearest tech center as your computer software is crashed and your data there's no guaranty for the same......also you should have all the disks that came with the computer specifically the one that says Windows. If not then dell can ship it to you.

Is it starting at all? Try pushing F2/ or f12 to get to you dos screen. Push this before the dell screen comes up.nthere you will be able to access diagnostic tests and if you need to set it to factory settings. And here are the solutions dell websites gives! Hope it works

I have a Dell inspiron 5100. When I try to turn it on, it just stays blank. It shows the Dell and Windows logos, but the screen where I'm supposed to choose my user account doesn't appear.

Are there any error messages displayed? Does the laptop switch off, or does it still remain on? (are lights etc. on?). Also, have you connected to an external monitor recently? I suggest attempting to connect to a monitor or TV using the S-Video or VGA connectors on your laptop, this should get the login screen to show up.

Hi, my problem on dell inspiron 1526 is this: SYSTEM MODULAR BAY cannot be indentified.... problem is that CD/dvd drive show signs of work(when i turn my computer on Green led blinks, motor starts to rotate...

If the drive functions in another system the the issue is either the motherboard contacts or the controller. Flash the BIOS to the most current version and reset the BIOS defaults. If the drive still doesn't detect, then a motherboard replacement is likely in order.

Assuming that you have Audio already functional, the solution is to set your system to "Clone" rather than "Extend" video. Right click on desktop > properties > settings > click on second monitor > uncheck extend monitor box (below). Click ok, press Fn + F8 to Clone.
